Lack of Psijic Portals?

✭✭✭✭✭I've found 20+ in the last two days. I find them mostly on my CP 160+ mains. I play off-peak on PC NA. on peak on PC EU.

✭✭I feel like the dev team grabbed a system from EQ, which is that certain zones become "hot" for rare things and it rotates on some schedule. When I find a portal, I will continue to find tons in that zone, if I go to another zone... zip. Same with Nirncrux, it is either hot and drops more frequently, or not and you are lucky to see one in hours of farming. If I don't get one in the first ten minutes, I come back another day, if I do I keep at it and they drop way more frequently.
I feel this is a pretty common system used across many games.1 -

✭✭I'll say it before and I'll say it again, the amount has definitely been reduced. They still exist from time to time, but either there was too many before (which I can understand, wanting to make people get summerset) and now they are especially rare, around the amount of chests. I feel like they did this specifically to keep people from farming them for stickerbook items.0 -

My experience doesn't bear that opinion out. I've been finding quite a few lately. Enough so that I was aware I am getting more in less time. RNG has been on my side I guess and not on your side. Been a few times I am picking up a portal and can see another not to far away.and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."1 -

I have noticed it's been awhile since the last time I looted a portal. I've done the quest up to being able to see the portals on all of my toons. Now I'm not saying I run around looking for them or anything. But I'm also not camping out in craglorn or vardenfell. I am though running around skyshard farming or doing undaunted dailies so I'm constantly in different zones. So yes I've notice the hard to miss glowing thingy are not around much of late.Edited by BeefcakeManwich on January 17, 2021 8:55AM0

✭✭✭✭It has nothing to do with the spawn rate. It is just that hardly anyone picks up enchanting mats anymore, which means those nodes won't spawn psijic portals. When you are in an area and pick up the enchanting nodes, many will become psijic portals. Make sure to double back.
This all is besides the fact that everyone immediately rushes to a psijic portal, when one has spawned. So even when they spawn, they are easy to miss if you are too late.Edited by Sarannah on January 17, 2021 10:59PM2 -
VilniusNastavnik✭✭✭✭✭Its roughly 1/4 of every enchanting node is a portal, just like 1/4 of every metal node is a jewellery node.
One day ill find tonnes, one day ill find none. Thieves troves are a pain though, to farm for leads.Active Toons:

✭Looks like I've just had rotten RNG for the past week. Ran across 3 portals in about 20 minutes earlier today.
People from ZOS can feel free to close this thread, as there turned out to not really be any problems.1 -
Threads like these are unexpectedly nice to run into. After years of playing I never knew the nodes were linked. It's great when you learn something new.3

RandomKodiak✭✭✭✭✭Also they reduced the number of psijic portals everywhere except Summerset about a year ago in one of the updates.
So they do pop up less often than they used to but mainly it's just a luck of the draw on enchanting nodes as was said earlier.

Sorry but it's just bad timing and/or bad rng.Is it just me or has there been a noticeable lack of Psijic Portals lately?
I always find portals whenever I play, sometimes more than others.
PS - Don't forget to pick up the rune nodes so portals have a chance to appear.
