It was 10 minutes of perfectly fine fighting but it was like the game realized those guys couldn't kill me so ESO roundhoused me harder than a Yowzel snipe and wouldn't let me do anything except run and die...

In before somebody comes along and says "...but the content team and bugs team are 2 different entities".

But they are. You don't take people off of content to fix bugs.
That's like looking at the people building your house and going 'You're an electrician; why don't you go work on the plumbing?'

The skillsets, while having SOME overlap if you lump it under 'coding', are still vastly different. You can't take an animator, or someone making new skeletons, and tell them to start working on the buggy code. Same with the people who write dialogue, or voice act, or the artists making skins for weapons/armor/mobs.

    It's the add-ons man. /s
Or that your computer is the issue. /s
Because a game on a decade old engine can't run properly on non-high end machines (and even on the high end ones it just makes"less problems").

Yeah, I get this all the time in prime time. Charge into a group of enemies with my battleaxe overhead.... and can't do squat. End up running around in circles, mashing buttons, clicking while nothing happens.... and then crash to desktop or if I'm lucky, everything catches up and happens at once, and I'm going from charging to dead on the ground in 1 second.

Agree, but you also don't build on a rotten frame, you first gut and fix the problems.

This doesn't mean consultants can't work towards permit/construction sets for approval.

Sending a foreman & crew to begin adding prior to fixing the core issues will just create more problems.

Well to your point, they sort of addressed this already in their 2020 recap. In 2020 they introduced multiple new systems, despite the situation of 2020. They had been working on them 6-12 months before they ever released to the public. That means they started developement on the new scrying/excavation/skill reworks/mechanic reworks (blocking, sprinting, animation cancelling) and the collection system well before Covid-19 placed employees at home.

They kept with their deadlines largely, I think things were only about a week late.. but overall, the game was the buggiest it's ever been in the past 6 years of the game despite promising to focus on improvements to performance in 2020.

They said they're going to take a step back from making new systems to focus on improvements... which honestly doesn't sound very great. I'll wait to see what is coming for the new Chapter, but if it's another generic minigame type system, I'm going to pass on 2021 for this game unfortunately. I want combat improvements like a spell crafting system, CP rework or new weapons, I think the community has been vocal enough about that.

So.. they win some, they lose some. Overall the state of the games performance is hurting them more than it's helping so I'm fine to wait for 2022. I already haven't played continuously since U23, only logging in to check whats new for a few days every patch.

I very, very rarely go to Cyrodiil this past year. I used to play in Cyro daily. Nowadays the performance only makes me angry. BGs are kind of okay though.

Lol. in vet trials it's not much better... When I last tanked vet Cloud Rest+1, I had to use only one bar because the lag was unbearable. Absolutely absurd...

In before somebody comes along and says "...but the content team and bugs team are 2 different entities".

The bug team are those that release 2 very small "patches" after each big expansion and then proceed to just issue server maintenances without any patches. Pretending like the game does not have thousands of issues that require patching.

It seems to me there is no bug team at all, but a single person they pay to do some fixing 4 times a year and that's it.

No bar swap? Sounds like a improvement to me.

Besides, if everything worked, we wouldn't have your cool video to watch. I particularly like the way the lettering comes rolling in to build the words.

Normal day in overland areas of tamriel, I'll be harvesting nodes at a leisurely pace when I run afoul of badguys, I'll dispense justice and send the badguys to their reward without much fuss.

The next node I come to wont let me interact with it unless I roll or swing my axe.
The game hasn't noticed I'm no longer in combat otherwise.

Lots of mundane stuff is just broken like that.
The problem with society these days is that no one drinks from the skulls of their enemies anymore.

I was trying to make them rainbow colors so they would pop more... But, couldn't figure it out so I found music that was fitting. Make sure you watch the whole video so you can see that not only was bar swap not working but none of my skills for 10 minutes after the fact...
