Hush, don't encourage them to make skill line more of a grind with an easy solution in the crown store.

Give it time I am sure they will eventually. Can't see ZOS leaving money on the table and not grabbing it.

Stay safe and have fun :)

No kidding. NONE of the skill lines should have cash shop shortcuts and it was a new low when the company decided that was an acceptable practice. Doubly a new low when they offered no equivalent in-game alternative. Gods forbid they do something like a NewGame+ like a proper game would do...

I'd prefer interesting and fun gameplay. If I ever feel urge to pay to not play a game I'll purchase and play some other game instead. Pointless grind combined with 'timesavers' may be more profitable in short term but does decrease the value of the game in long term.

I actually think Antiquities and Psijic were attempts to make something interesting and fun instead of bland grind. If they keep on it maybe they succeed some day.

I Love that ZoS started to put skillines, skyshards and so on in crownstore. That way i can still play at endgame lvl despite my limited playtime. Otherwise i would be a casual pug theese days and probably quit playing. Lvling a new char now to fully endgame ready takes a couple hours. Compared to weeks/months IF i should lvl, psijic, undaunted, assault, mages, fighters guild....sky shards .and so on.LoL i dont even wanna think of that grind....

There has always been an in game alternative. Play the game on the character you want the skill line for and get it as you go.

This is exactly what I was about to say, except I don't play the game anymore.

Everyone please Show some respect to people who have less time to invest into the mindless pointless grinds.

Hehe... people don't even know what PTW means, they just toss the term out there. There are ZERO items in the Crown store that would qualify as PTW. Even the skill lines, you have to EARN them before they give you the right to use them on another character.

Right?? People don't realize how lucky we are that the cash shop isn't anything like black desert or 95% of the mmorpgs on the market.

Always said I would never buy an upgrade to a skill line and then I made my necromancer and starred up at the looming mountain of levelling up the undauntedly and all over again… The thought of running the same dungeons another thousand billion times, all those hideous pugs, all the guild groups that seem hellbent on doing vet hard mode when they can barely do normal... my heart just collapsed and I bought the upgrade.

As for antiquities I just wish there was some way of speeding up the process until you reach purple level, that is such a tedious slog. Once you can scry for purple leads the levelling process is a breeze

Doing basic activities around the zones will get a reasonable supply of purples then it’s a relatively short wait until you get able to do gold ones. I send my main around Coldharbour because for her those gold crystal anomalies leads seem to fall out of every third or fourth crafting node and your new character will fly through the last handful of levels.

Guess I'm a real wierdo - I love leveling antiquities across as many characters as have enough skill points to do most of it. Of course, following antiquities digs all over, does make scooping up skyshards easy too.

Then again, I can (and most often do) play all day every day; I'm retired, did my long years of slogging through work, and now I have a nice retirement income, and games being my hobby, that's where my "play money" goes.

Why would you need Antiquities on more than one character? You can collect the leads on all your alts and find them with the one that has the skill line.

Because I like being able to do a lead on anyone I'm playing rather than logging into my main if I'm leveling a lowbie.

The passive that makes treasure chests glow. You spot like 50% more treasure chests, especially when speed running or just passing through somewhere. It is a huge money maker for me.

Ah, that makes sense. I am on PC and have an add on for finding the chests.

So do I, but you would be surprised how many of them blend in, are hidden or quite commonly, buried in the wall or floor and impossible to spot without it. I have discovered so many chests that I thought were not up, but turned out were just glitched into the floor, yet still interactable if you put your mouse in "just" the right spot. There is one like that in some ruins in Deeshan as well. Always saw the marker, never saw the chest, but now I do!

Hopefully never. We absolutely don't need to encourage them to design more skill-lines with inconveniences and paid progression unlocks in mind. I think Antiquities is actually well designed in that regard since you only need it on one character.

Besides, there's no reason to max Antiquities on another character. You won't get the same gold you got for ranking it up the first time around so you might as well use those skill points on something else. Every lead lasts a stupidly long time (30 days) before they expire so it's not like it will expire in the next few minutes before you can scry it on your dedicated character. Just play around on your alts and when you get around to your dedicated Antiquarian you can just do them all at once.

I find it fun, and have zero use for the mythics. Yes, everyone's notion of fun is individual.

The ingame equivalent is doing it yourself....
Also you have to already have done it at least once to be able to pay2skip

If you can't (and you can't - this doesn't exist in the game right now) [snip] I like this game - parts of their team do fantastic work that is quite praiseworthy - but the monetization is very egregious. There's no excusing it.

By the way, I just finished the Psijic guild on an old stamina char after I got surprise nagging from Augur of the Obscure. I of course had already done it to point where I could see the Psijic portals on that char and apparently quite some more cause that happened in Deshaan which is after closing quite a lot of rifts and collecting the first 4 parts of the thing.

Main problem in it for me was Psijic can't be casually done when doing other mostly base game things like Fighter's and (also quite annoying) Mages guild grind. (AFAIK) there is no easy way to keep track what rifts I had already done long before and forgot about. Annoyance factor of Augur is a matter of taste. I would not pay for not doing it but something in design of that is off.

Antiquities would be much better if I could sell, decon or vend the useless posh furniture but at least leads can be ignored or done in whatever order and pace on any char one wants. And if it did not eat so much precious skillpoints.

Lol... Some of you guys kill me, I think one person actually answered the question. Face it their primary goal is to make money, not to supply you with free entertainment, so suck it up buttercups. I love how people call it pay to win, what exactly are you winning? I'm paying for a convenience to not have to grind something I've already done. If you enjoy doing it over and over, by all means have at it. [snip] At least with skill lines and shards, etc I have something useful to spend my crowns on.
Face it, they are going to cater to the people that are financially supporting the game and giving them money.

I just think it sucks that they made sure to make it so you can't gift it. I haven't spent my crowns on loot crates in ages since crown store gifting came out because I can do some skin runs every now and then and buy 15 crates here and there by trading the gold. But since they couldn't add in achievement checks to make sure the person wanting skyshards/skill lines has them unlocked, we have to dig into our pockets and spend real money for skill lines instead of farming in-game gold to trade others willing to part with their crowns.

If the worst thats in a cash shop for a game is to skip a skill tree grind, I'm fine with it. I'd rather that over straight up pay2win stuff like whats in BDO or like...... any mobile game
