I play on PC EU and have managed to buy the maps for 15k or less, it does take time to search but quicker than waiting on the god of RNG.

To offset the cost I have prioritised the armour motifs so I have sold the weapons motifs and will switch over to complete the achievement.

Time spent isn't any different to completing the dailies to the style pages.

Even Harrowstorms aren't a good source of maps, as the 'Grey Host Satchel' may or may not even drop, and that's still got a chance for all maps in it...

There's a reason these maps are listed on traders for 60k+ while the other alliance maps are back down below 500.

I do notice the ancestral reach motif pages are coming down well in price, but I'd rather not buy this one - I kinda want to also get the codex entries, and I only get those from digging it up.

On which server maps costs 60k? On pc eu you can buy them for 7-20k, on pc na 20-30k. Of course some ppl might list it highier but it is like buying single potato for 1 mil (just don't do that)

I wish they would be listed for the TTC price. I've noticed though that TTC severely undervalues certain things like these maps and motif pages (especially dungeon/trial styles). It may say what the suggested price is, but if you look on the website, you barely find any listed for even double that price.

I've only managed to be lucky enough to find a few in the 10-20k range on PCNA. Most guild traders that have them have them listed for 40-70k, and I'm not touching it for that price. Lower than that is snapped up instantly - I've seen listings for under 20k on TTC gone when it was posted less than 5 minutes prior.

I just went around a bunch of traders right now searching without TTC, and the absolute lowest I saw available was still over 30k. I know it's all RNG, I'm just frustrated by my bad RNG for these...

Another thing that's frustrating about them - evidently all of the motifs come from all of the zones. At least with things like Ancestral Nord, if you had 13/14 and were only missing chests, you could focus on getting Stonefalls maps and you'd have a 50/50 of getting the lead you need. Here, all motifs are possible, so getting that last codex entry is another huge RNG fest. And with my luck, the next motif I get would end up being the only one I already have.

I feel like they could have made this a bit easier, or at least buff the drop rates of maps - I know the dragons in SElsweyr have a greater tendency to drop SElsweyr maps, or at least it feels like it since I always had so many of those. Also wondering whether we should be ready to stockpile other maps - I can see them throwing Ancestral Imperial in the existing Cyrodiil maps when it releases...

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom Is it intended that green leads are acting as if they are purple? I've only just gotten around to excavating some of my leads but one of my motif leads (Bows, green) had purple scryable layout, fissures, and gave 3 bonus treasures, which is not typical for green leads.

The TTC price is going to include all the listings that sold immediately in its algorithm. The ones you'll actually find listed on traders will be the ones that didn't sell immediately. This is why TTC "suggested price" can seem to be skewed really low when you're desperately hunting for something. There are probably more people listing it at a lower price than you think there are; they just get scooped up fast but still added to the algorithm.
