You are overrating guilds. These problems will still be there as many of those, who aare making troubles are guilddmembers. Once had a GM, who couldn´t ease his tempo in dungeons, no matter what. People simply stoped running dungeons with him.

When things like that happen they go to PUG´s simple as that. I my guild chat´s I do see people, who are looking for a fast run. They don´t get alot of reply`s and so they PUG.

And when puging is out of the way it´s back to the guild again lol

Problem with joining a guild is that you can't complain on the forums anymore when too lazy to type in chat to the speedrunner/quester that you want a speedrun/to complete the quest for skillpoint.

The problem with guilds is when you complain in guild chat you cant farm "awesome`s" like you can here.

Problems with using guilds for group activities:
    1. Guilds generally are to small to have enough people online to pull from.
    2. Even at peak, it can be difficult to find enough people in a guild to do the activity i want to do. If i want to do it a certain way, like speed run a dungeon or do a dungeon quest it becomes even more difficult.
    3. Instead of doing other stuff while an LFG looks for people for me, i now have to spend my time being a community event organizer.
    4. If i don't play around peak for my server, and i don't, it becomes even more hassle.
    5. When you do find people to run in a guild you always have that guy that has to clear out his inventory, swap armor, cant find his weapon, its on another character, be right back,.... 10 minutes later after everyone fell asleep he is finally ready. You always have the unorganized OCD types that must do A,B, and C before they can do Dungeons.
    6. Well we could pull from multiple guilds... except now it becomes a cross guild organization dance.
    7. I could just make my own guild...yeah I live on Earth not Tamriel. I don't have the hours available in my life to properly run a functioning guild and i sure dont want to spend those hours managing others... i already do that for a job.

There are reasons why trial/raid guilds have set times they raid and alts to cover.

The best solution is a LFG tool. It matches people who want to do the same activity at the same time without those people needing to put a lot effort into it. They can continue doing other things until a match has been found. Our LFG tool just needs to be fixed reworked so it better matches the needs of ALL the people who use it and does so reliably. Like many things in ESO, it is duct taped together so we can check the box of having that feature, meanwhile the stories, quest lines, and voice overs are perfectly flawless.

This feature is not only available in similar games but works well. When it doesn't work well, its fixed quite quickly because if its not the players riot. ZOS is notorious for letting bugs go for years, and instead pushes an aggressive content release schedule. Fixing bugs doesn't make any money and neither does making the LFG a better tool with more options. Dropping chapters and $100 plus houses does.

Joining the maximum number of player guilds (five) can help, because you stand a better chance of finding at least one other player from three of your guilds who are interested in running a dungeon with you. But that isn't a sure thing if you don't play at peak hours or don't belong to guilds that have large and active memberships.

This is true, and also, my guild is small, but there are only so many roles that can be filled depending on what you want to do. Sometimes people are already in groups or busy as well. Sometimes everyones a healer so you have to pug a dps. Like, ideally yes this is the best route to go but guilds don't erase the need for the group finder tool. I play at odd hours, so depending on how late it is there's no one on in my guild but me an an Australian so if we want to do something we have to pug.

But, all of that doesn't even address how hard it is to even find a guild of people you like, who do play the way you are interested in, and that isn't so big that when you ask to do stuff you get ignored.
