Ok, Oblivion, magic tomes... it's time for grimoires/runes

Enough with literally all playerbase running around with staves. Magic users have different weapons, staves, wands, charms, grimoires, crystal balls, runes, unarmed... Time for a new magicka weapon.

At present we only have ONE magicka weapon, a staff, thar shoots different beams. This doesn't count as four weapons, but one. Similarly, axes, maces, swords, daggers count as four different weapons although they share the same skill line. Learn the difference. Give us more options for magicka builds.

While I agree that it is past time for a new magicka weapon, looking at Rich's statement before New Year I doubt we'll be getting it next year.

Would love to see a passive on this type of weapon skill line that states, "you use your magicka for dodge, break free, and sprint." Would do wonders for balance.

To me, this looks like balance. We, mages, have more variaty in class skills and less in weapons. Stamina users have more variety in weapons and less in class skills.

I just wish we had some base motifs to change staffs into something else (at least to this this small orbs like in Skyrim), or whatever, because I personally dont like the idea of staff being magic rifle.
Let's be extremely precise in our use of terms.

Not really since magicka abilities cost more than stamina abilities for the sole reason that stamina is used for blocking, break free, and sprint. They balanced the game around that and the magicka to block on ice staff has proven to be a problem because of that balancing act.

One idea comes to mind, a Spellsword skill line that utilises one-handed weapons in one hand with a grimoire in the other, serving as a Magicka variation of sword and board but with a few differences.
If you see me anywhere. Know that I am sitting back with a bag of popcorn, watching as ESO burns the goodwill of its player base with practices that only disrespects the players time like it did to me and many others...

If a game does not respect your time, best thing to do is move on from it and find something else.

I really like the feel to play with daggers, so a wand or two would do for me. I would definitely DO NOT want to dodge, break free or sprint with mag. Heck, the only reason I play mag is because it makes sense to me to keep those abilities and the magicka ones draw from separate pools.

I would just love to have a tome/hand casting mage seems like a good time to even make it a new element which is already in game: Oblivion damage.
