Malacath’s Brutal Rune Core

I am sure I know the answer to this before I ask it...but is the Imperial city the only place the Brutal Rune Core lead can be found. I have played ESOL since it went live and only play single player content. I am aware of all that I am missing but I have all the pieces to the ring except the one in Imperial City and was wondering if there was any place else to get the lead. Thanks in advance and please don't flame me....I am just an average player and have stayed away from group content....thanks....Jim

No, you have to get it from imperial city.

It's not a good ring for PVE if that is your goal. Its a PVP ring straight up.

No issues. I completed mine by going into NON-CP City with a healer and a tank from a guild and the three of us took down a watcher (hard fight, we died a lot). I was lucky to get the lead on the first kill, but I dont think its a 100% drop, I just got lucky.

I wanted the ring for PVE and so I tested it on my PVE build, moved CP around, changed some armor to max Spell damage and get rid of everything crit and I lost 3k DPS in pve, it was not worth it.

Crits count for way too much damage in PVE.

If you want the ring for collections and or a PVP toon, or in hopes that someday it can be worked into a PVE set then I would definitely try to get it, but right now unless you are going to PVP with it, I would not waste the time.

Farming the Ring of the Pale Order or Ring of the Wild Hunt are MUCH more beneficial for PVP and PVE. :)

I have been fortunate to get both of the other rings and the ring of the Pale Order has been nice. I will just chalk this one up as not being able to finish and move on....have a great 2021

Many of those bosses can be soloed. Especially if you have ring of pale order. You just need to be lucky to not meet any gabkers

I got it using my PVE MagPlar and no prior PVP experience. I went in solo and looked for other players in my Alliance, then followed them around until a roaming boss appeared. I tried moving around in sneak before that, but that didn't work out too well. I died a lot, but in the end it only took a few hours. I would recommend going in during less busy times, but I managed it during a weekday evening.

I can confirm that it does not work well for PVE builds. I had a hybrid character I thought it might help, but I lost a lot of DPS putting it on.

Also, while it is possible to solo the street bosses, I kept getting ganked by opposing Alliance members while I was trying to do that. It is better to have other people in your own alliance around even if you are not grouped with them. No CP had less gankers, but they were still there and I struggled with soloing the bosses without CP.

RunForTheHills....thanks so much for your insight. I know many of the antiquities are behind PVE walls so it is only fair that some are behind PVP walls....but it does make it hard to complete some of them. Thanks again and have a great 2021.
