Porting to IC is better than using Ctlr-alt-delete to close the game when you are stuck in combat in Cyrodiil and need to log off. I would rather it stay at least until they fix being stuck in combat or being stuck in a wall while also in combat.
I ran across an enemy that was stuck inside of a post in Bruma. I struck up a conversation with him via /w and asked him about his predicament. He had been stuck there for several minutes and, being near the guards, he was not able to get out of combat. I suggested that he go to IC and it worked. He went to IC then back to cyrodiil.

While the port from Cyrodiil to IC might not be the worst, even though it's quite ridiculous when people dissappear right in front of you (and you're 100% sure it's not an invisible potion) just because their pride doesn't allow them to take a loss, the opposite is a problem.
I can name numerous occasions where I've had entire groups and/or imperial physique users abuse this "feature" to avoid losing their telvar (I don't play as a ganker before people jump to that conclusion). If ZOS can't prevent you from porting while in combat, the least they can do is to make the user lose half their telvar if porting from IC to Cyrodiil using the queue for Cyrodiil or battlegrounds.
What's the point of "Sigil of Imperial retreat" if you can just queue for another PvP instance and get away for free? People like to talk about the "risk vs reward" aspect of telvar farming and IC and how gankers benefit greatly from this, but by abusing the queue feature to avoid fighting others, there is no risk whatsoever for the people farming telvar.

I can understand that this is a low priority change in Cyrodiil but the fact that players can abuse this to avoid pvping to defend their tel var stones is a complete fallacy. Please fix.

The day they fix the in combat bug, the universe will end. The elderscrolls speak of it.
