I just did the exact same thing and found it through google. When I was searching the forums for information on the feathers, it was equally hard sadly. Information is just so hard to come by here sometimes.

The actual quote from the patchnotes is this.
Lastly, we introduce our final indrik morph for 2020 (and perhaps for all time), the Crimson Indrik. The first two berries are available on the Impresario for 10 Event Tickets each. What new morphing treasures are coming in 2021? You'll have to wait and see!

This, sadly, is inceredibly vague. While it makes quite clear that the Crimson Indrik is the last one for now, the feathers are not mentioned at all, which is my main criticism. With a hint like that, I still assumed that the feathers would still be available to finish up the collection. If it was made a bit clearer here that that would not be the case I and others might have followed a different strategy during those last few months. That is what I mean by making communication here a bit clearer.

This is also not helped by the fact that it is in the PTS patch notes, which are even less visible to the broad playerbase than the regular ones. The regular patchnotes from augusts 6.1.5 patch sadly make no mention of the Indriks whatsoever.

Probably the first "hard" mention is in the press release for the Witches festival, in October.

Since this post is quite lengthy, here's a quick TL;DR for everyone who wishes to know right away what the core issue here is: A lot of us have collected Indrik berries over feathers since we thought the feathers would always be available, so we need a grace period of a couple more events to finish our collections.

Since these have been offered over a period of about two years and you only need a couple more events to finish your collection, why is it not finished already? It seems to be more than focusing on berries instead of feathers.

Does it matter? Even if someone focused on other rewards from the events they still should be allowed the means to get the feathers they need to finish the indriks they have collected the berries for.

That's what the New Life event has been for the last two years. The opportunity to "catch up" on things you may have missed.

Let's say they keep feathers, then all you're going to get is a variation on this post in 6 months... "I cant get all the old feathers I need, the new (whatever the next mechanism is) AND the special rewards, you need to extend/increase/etc..."

Let things end. It's healthy to let go, and have things be finished. If you're a completionist, you would have done your absolute best to actually complete it when appropriate. There were an abundance of ticket opportunities offered, way more than you needed. And, as an absolute last resort, you could buy crowns to get the tickets (or use ESO plus subsciptiin crowns) or buy them from a crown seller. The options were there.

There is literally no acceptable argument for not leaving the feathers in for a short period of time so players that might be behind on gathering feathers can complete their collections. The only reason you could possibly argue against this is because its a "I got mine, screw you" mentality. Leaving feathers in the Impersario for a period of time harms no one. But I really am not surprised that forumites are arguing against something that doesnt impact them but they just have to have a contrarian opinion to an idea.

Thanks for assuming that I dont give a %$*# about other people... there is no way to have any sort of reasonable debate with somebody who makes that assumption about you right off the bat. So, I wont.

Buddy, no one has to assume anything about your position when you so blatantly share it.

Yes. The feathers were advertised as a permanent part of events and worked that way for 2 years. Therefore if they are going to remove them, players should be given enough time to collect enough feathers for all the berries + a nascent if they are reasonably diligent. And that was not the case. People made play and purchasing decisions based on that information. I personally view it as a very selfish stance to state otherwise because ZOS should of course do what they implied they would do.
Every time a new in-game event starts, you’ll be able to purchase the new Indrik Feather AND any previous feathers. You are not locked out of purchasing feathers from previous events, so if you weren’t able to collect enough Event Tickets previously, you always have a chance to catch up.

    https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/54935

Permanent while the Indriks were available, yes — surely no one thought that Indriks would be available from all events forever into the future? And there have been several events where new berries weren’t introduced but the feathers were available so that people could indeed catch up. But I do not know why anyone would expect that the feathers would be around longer than the Indriks...

I prioritized what Indriks I wanted and traded for and bought tickets to make sure I’ll be able to keep my nascent. IMHO, if the argument for the feathers having extended availability is valid, then all berries and pets should become available then too for those who bought feathers instead based on the announcement that Indriks were ending this year.

I have a big problem with this.

As far as im concerned there should never be an item that you cant get, maybe you have to wait for a specific time of year or maybe you have to farm it a different way but all items should be obtainable. You should always be able to earn something someone else has earned in game.

Who knows, maybe they could leave the feathers in for a while as a gesture of good will. I can understand feeling a lack of clarity, and I am all for asking for that clarity. Also, this is probably a good learning lesson for both sides - the people still needing feathers and the people at ZOS. I think it would have been better to be VERY clear. While I understood the statements made months ago to mean all parts of the Indrik system would be leaving and would be replaced with some new fancy shiny thing to chase, but not everyone got that message clearly. Not everyone is watching every single place so they catch all the ZOS info. Tons of people do not come to the forums, or they don't use Twitter, or they aren't able to/don't wish to watch the streams. Having a uniform statement that leaves nothing to guesswork might be a better way to approach it next time, clearly say all parts will be discontinued including feathers and berries, or something like that...and put it everywhere so its not missed, heck make a login banner window thing even.

It would hurt literally nothing to go ahead and leave the feathers in for a bit. With the understanding that whatever the next phase is, that will also be somewhat limited time with an eventual end date, and you may find yourself in a similar situation in the future if you dont plan out your ticket needs pretty well. Perhaps they will be more clear in the next round, and more people will know for sure they have a set amount of time before they can no longer complete the things. But also, like I said earlier, ask for that clarity when its lacking so you have as much time as possible to get ready for whatever is changing.

I gotta side with the 'ticket supply was generous opinion. My system has been - make an indrik, then get the berries. Extra tickets go into feathers. Using this system I generally had the tickets accumulated on day one of a new event that would have the final berry. So when the event started, I could buy the last berry immediately - and then start participating in the event, accumulating tickets to get feathers for the base Indrik.

    IMHO

Even if the amount of tickets was generous enough, not everyone can always be active during each event.
I think many can agree, that ESO has made it rather hard to stick with it in recent time. So to play different games and totally miss news about upcoming events, is likely. Especially when these events are just the same copy paste every year without anything done differently. It is a sport, nothing else.

Zenimax should have communicated this earlier. Even IF they were to allow berry and feather purchase for a few more events, then what about whatever new reward they bring? A new mount that needs to be assembled, for example. People in question would not be able to purchase those if they have to catch up on Indriks.

So the need to cash in, is inevitable at some point.
Zynical tongues could claim, that the recent event tickets for crown crates gift promotion, came not all that randomly.

The only reason you could possibly argue against this is because its a "I got mine, screw you" mentality. Leaving feathers in the Impersario for a period of time harms no one. [snip]

It's sometimes less of a "I got mine, screw you" mentality than a "I play this game religiously." Such folks are not in a position to see the problem because they have a fundamentally different experience playing the game because of how many hundreds (if not thousands) of hours they put in.

Most events (not all... before somebody skewers me for saying something incorrect) the thing you had to do to get tickets took minutes to complete, minutes.

If something is important to you, you can find a few minutes to do it, most of the time. The same goes for real life, if it's important to you to exercise, you find the time, if it is important to eat healthy, you find the time to cook, etc...

It's not a case of having to spend thousands of hours to achieve. So stop appealing to the extremes.

Why does that matter at all when they were advertised as permanent? And people made real life purchases based on that advertisement?

They were "permanent" on an event to event basis. Nowhere did they say they would be around forever. They said they were being discontinued months ago.

You've never made a real life purchase where it got discontinued, and you had to change, or upgrade? I have some old DDR3 ram I cant use because my new motherboard only uses DDR4 ram. Things change and evolve.

They did not state the feathers were going to be discontinued months ago. That is false. They said it on December 15th which was not enough time for their advertisement to be true. They said you would ALWAYS be able to catch up on feathers and then didn't even have them even one event after the berries were done to do that. This is blatantly anti-consumer.

Real life products have shelf space and finite inventories. In-game products do not. There is zero reason they couldn't keep their word and keep the feathers as something always available to be purchased or at least sell them a couple more events so all the people playing catch up could actually catch, as they explicitly stated they'd be able to do.

    tmbrinks wrote: »

That post says final evolution, not final chance to get the base form. They didn't explain feathers wouldn't come back until December 15th. I personally have every Indrik and every Indrik pet, but just because I did that does not mean that ZOS did a good job of letting consumers know they'd be discontinuing an item they previously advertised as permanent to events.

I won't lie, I got all the indriks and all the pets. I also got a load of Imperial Furniture, pagodas and style pages.

Yes i was fortunate because I was able to log on on the majority of days to get the tickets.

However, i wasn't able to get all the Opal style pages and there were other style pages I bought with gold rather than tickets because I chose to prioritise the indriks.

Over the years I've played i have missed out on pets and mounts that have been given away, there have been things in the crown store that I wishbi'd got at the time and didn't so haven't got them.

Thats life, at the end of the days though all I don't have is some pixels on a screen. My gaming experience isn't any the worse for not having thongs i've missed out on and its the same with the indriks

By not having them all you are not missing out an anything, and Zos have even said that they may bring them back at some point.

And to answer the point, to me its pretty obvious that feathers will end when indriks end, as feathers are needed to create an indrik an announcement stating indriks are ending must mean an end to the feathers as well. Otherwise it isn't an end to indriks.

As someone who was forced to have a medical hiatus of 5 years, this was terrible news to me because I won't have access to the shiny horses like many players have.

Although my account is old, after all these years, ESO is relatively new to me once again. And this is great! But I'm not alone on this boat either and with new players coming all the time this change of something that's already working will prevent us to get what others got.

Two years is a too-short lifespan to make something so obsolete to the point of being removed.

    Sad news indeed :'(

As for the feathers, happy for them to be available in the crown store for those that really want them but think that if they appear on the impressario we are setting up an unwelcome precedent for people who miss out on things to be able to ask for them later.

Would have zero objection to them returning but as a casual that also hasn't participated fully in most events (bar maybe Witches cus I love it) I agree that there were more than enough berries available.

I've got all Indriks and a nascent, although didn't bother with the pets and would always try and finish and event where possible on max tickets. Didn't focus on other Impressario goods but here I am now with 20 group repair kits. Also spent exactly nothing in the crown store.

A lot of people saying that not everyone can participate in the event - fair enough. But the berries and feathers (via event tickets) were the incentives to get people playing during those events. So this seems like kind of a moot argument to me.

Maybe they could just convert any unused indrik feathers to whatever the new widget is or back to tickets, 12 max?

But yeah, twitter and pts notes is not proper amound of visibility for this change.

So what do we do with existing feathers and berries that we may have? Going forward will we be able to convert them into even tix or some such? I still have not seen any definitive answer.

Exactly! And while ZOS said there are currently no plans to bring back berries and feathers, there may be in the future (I believe the actual messages are in the Official Festival thread).

I actually managed to complete my collection, but now that the event is over, I feel like these two posts sum up perfectly what we should try and learn from this situation:

Stuff being limited is fine, but it would really be appreciated by the community if the communication was a bit clearer about when and how things will be discontinued, so we can plan or event participation and crown spending a bit better.

Also I wholeheartedly agree with wanting a nascent baby Indrik pet, that would truly complete the herd.

In fact my suggestion would be to make it available during the next Summerset celebration event, since it would fit best there themactically.

I’d like to see part-collections refunded as tickets or some other means in readiness for whatever comes next. This would mean that if you have 2 berries that are useless going forward, you’d have 20 tickets refunded.

I appreciate we might not get a 1:1 refund ratio, but to my mind this solution would close the door on the Indriks without causing anyone any lasting pain!

I don't have any problems with the feathers being at the Impressario forever, but I must say that the OP's statement about tickets being scarce is just untrue. I'm a casual player, and I had really no trouble getting and managing tickets for the indriks. There was one hiccup with Murkmire event memento and pet but it seems that ZoS has learned their lesson and all the events since had items obtainable without the need for tickets really. Anyway, buying a combo of 1 feather + 1 berry each event was hardly a chore, and usually I was stocked up on feathers again almost right after using them to create the Nascent Indrik. Last event in fact I still bought 4 feathers after getting the last berry evolution and creating another nascent indrink, simply because I didn't really have anything else to spend tickets on since I don't use group repair kits. So after the two years of events I have almost everything that was offered during events:
    - all 9 indriks with the corresponding pets,
    - 4 feathers in the collections,
    - 12 tickets (I actually wasted one on the last day of new life since I had 10 tickets and got another 3 from the box).
I also got almost all of the event collectibles, the only things I'm missing are:
    - the Grave Stake memento from the Murkmire event (as I said, that was the only event where the tickets and drop rates could be considered scarce),
    - the jade helmet and shoulder from the dragonfall event (I could have gotten it but I was saving up tickets for indriks not knowing about the generous 5 tickets a day we had for New Life in 2019),
    - I think one thing from the Grave Dancer set (I didn't really like that one, and I could've gotten everything since those aren't ticket exclusive),
    - some opal style pages (same as above).
So yeah, the only reason you didn't get everything is not participating in events which is something you have to keep in mind in a MMO, you miss out on stuff when you're not playing. I'm still salting over missing on the Grand Psyjiic Villa and those glowing horses during the Summerfall, so I feel you.
I'm all for adding feathers right away again but tbh I don't see their ending as ZoS goof in this instance. There was plenty of warning that this is the end of indriks for now and December had plenty of tickets since almost all of it was in the event period. Sorry if I rambled, I hope I made at least some sense. =)

Seems i am a bit late to the party when it comes to this discussion but i just wanted to add something small.
You can't always get everything you want, that counts for all aspects of life. Doesn't matter the reason etc. Its just how life is.
Coming from someone who have only collected 3 indrik mounts and 2 pets over the entire indrik system.

I have been focusing on collecting most if not all the outfit style pages, but thats a choice i made. I knew i probably wouldnt be able to get everything during every event etc and nor you should you be able to (in my opinion).

When it comes to indrik events ending with a late warning, that is just not true. If you paid attention to forum, zonechat or just looked at their website every now and again you would have known they would end this year for months. The fact that you didnt look it up is not zos's fault.

I have never understood this mentality of "I have something, so nobody else should ever have it! [commence mustache twirling]"

I get that things like the monkey pet and tiger mount are special, since that's from being here since the beginning of the game when things were really shaky. But random stuff that could have been offered to everyone depending on when it was in the store?

"I'm better than you since I was playing the game on February 27th, 2017 and you weren't! Haha lol you're literal trash!"

If ZOS's mindset was to only allow the OG players to have stuff, then all you'd see is the population of the game drop off until you were the only one left. Is ZOS supposed to control our lives so that we can't even leave the computer for a single day just to make sure we can get things? "Sorry mom, I can't visit you on your deathbed since I have to buy this virtual horsie."

There's a reason that the daily rewards give the big prize on the 21st day, not the 31st. There's a reason that One Tamriel made the game more accessible to new players. There's even a reason that they keep selling the base game instead of only chapters so that new players can join after all this time. I guess I just don't see "I happened to log in on a specific day, bow down to me!" having the same amount of majesty as something like the Godslayer title or mount.

As to the topic, I don't see a problem with it. I'd have liked the old berries to have come back since there wasn't much to buy in this last event, yet I'd have liked to get the Dawnwood since it matched with the undyeable potrions of the Jephrine Paladin style from the Anniversary event, but I didn't. I have a Nascent and four feathers in stock since before the event started that I still haven't used. If it comes back, fine, if not, I won't be affected. I never really understood what the problem was with the indriks in the first place, and I bet this new morpholith is going to end up being the same kind of 'event thing until everyone on the forums complains about palette swaps.'

So will I be derided for sporting my “naked” silvery grey Indrik as I charge across Tamriel on a not fully realized mount?

Better than indrik feathers would be an actual feather as a mount ridden magic carpet style across the wastes of Craglorn. It makes me kind of misty to think about it.

I think it is bad policy to leave the blank templates of the indriks (and their berries) (and their feathers) in the Collections menu, if they are NOT going to be recycled at some point allowing players to convert them from "blank, not owned" to "proper image, owned". I could say the same of the parts, and the completed item, of the Murkmire Grave-stake.

Stuff that is NEVER going to come back, should only be visible in the Collections store to people who actually have it, not to people who don't. If it's in the Collections store even when not owned - as an item in the list, as a silhouette among the images of "not owned" items - that should be a sign that it will be recycled eventually.

I'm saying this as someone who only started in July: who has, over the course of events since then, managed to get the Mossheart and Crimson indriks (complete) and all four berries of a Spectral indrik when they recurred in the Winter event. There simply have not been enough events, to provide me with surplus event tickets to spare for the four feathers to make a third Nascent indrik to use with the Spectral berries, and I wasn't able to get the fourth snow-type indrik berries either.

There's a whole load of other limited-edition stuff I missed too. Mounts, pets and outfits from promotions that happened years before I ever started in the game. BUT, that stuff isn't in the Collections menu for me. There's no grayed-out silhouette, and no entry in the list. It was limited edition. I don't have a problem with that.

But I *do* have a problem with the stuff that IS in the collections menu being permanently "present, but blank".

Having them return so players can have the option to complete the set or get the ones they want is totally fine with me.

I also want a nascent baby indrik 😜

And I'd have no problem with this in principle , but we're just going to have the same moaning and grumbling later. "I didn't get all the new berry/feather equivalents for the new mounts because I had to finish the old ones" will be prevalent in December.

Indriks are gone now, thank goodness. Hopefully now people understand how the collection works we won't be having this same conversation next January.
