PVE Pet Sorcs Post Patch

So I took out my PVE pet sorc for the first time since the patch dropped to see what kind of damage the new changes to pet damage scaling brought, and to be honest, I couldn't notice an appreciable difference in damage output. I never parsed him post-patch, but just based on feel, he was still melting everything in front of him more or less as quickly as he was before. That said, I lack the transmute crystals right now to swap traits to do an apples-to-apples comparison with the set I was planning to use in place of Crafty Alfiqi (Destruction Mastery), so I'm wondering if others have played around with their pet sorc builds, and if so, were they able to increase their damage outputs by adding more spell damage to their builds?

My build currently runs 60K magika and around 3300 Spell Damage self-buffed. Not sure if it would be worthwhile to drop around 5k magika or so to increase spell damage by around 400 (Destruction mastery, all infused traits on jewelry)

My guy seems to be doing the same as before, I havent even swapped out Undaunted Inftrator, though I’ll probably swap it for Olorime now that noone seems to be using that anyway

The scaling change was a pretty good improvement for pve where sets like Siroria are used, but it's a more more noticable improvement for Stam Sorc's using clanfear, since stamina builds get higher weapon damage multipliers than they do max resources. I noticed my clanfear get a nice 20-30% dps boost so not too bad.

Pvp max magicka builds are going to suffer here, this is actually a great argument for ZOS to finally reconsider how shields scale. It would open the door for mag sorc builds like crazy, right now they're somewhat shoehorned into max magicka builds.

But isn't that part of the intended trade-off? If you focus everything on max magicka to maximise your shield, you lose a bit of offensive power. It's not as if other mag shields don't scale in the same way as a sorc's ward.

Maybe before they capped shields years ago. Hardened ward is hard capped at 60% max HP which you hit without giving any extra attention to max magicka
