Character Name Change Bug

I deleted one character with certain name, then i am trying to put same name on the other character and it says " There was a system error", i am trying the same on next day with half hour time space between deleting character with this name and putting it onto another and the same. Any ideas?

Qethsegol✭✭✭I actually have the same problem, and get the same error message when I try to change the name of a character that was restored for me. After days of being in contact with customer service and being transferred to a more advanced branch, they told me that this was a common issue with restored characters, so maybe your character was restored as well? If not it is probably anyway related to the same issue that I am having, since you deleted the character who's name you want to use?
Anyway, I think we need to wait that this issue is being fixed by the responsible developing team.

✭I'd guess it's a bug in there system, perhaps the old char isn't being completely removed from the database but who knows. I wouldn't hold my breath for a quick fix though. You might want to just modify the name you wish to use slightly and go with that. You can do stuff like use an accented character such as Ì instead of i in the name by using alt keycodes and it will treat it as a different name.0 -
Lolinda✭✭Yes it was restored character, i made new character to keep this name, so when they restored the old one, the system input a placeholder name (there were numbers added in front and back, so the name looks ugly now..) and now they just wrote me i can chane restored characters name even without the token from the character selection screen but i clicked and tried everything and i have no idea how to do it, its impossible i think
And btw i tried to change it with my other 2 restored characters (yea i know..) even with random letters and numbers and the same error, so there is something going on with restored charactes0 -
