I recommended it to five IRL friends of mine (during free steam weekends), of which three already had experiences with mmorpgs (ffxiv / wow / gw2 / tera), only one of em stuck around longer than a weekend and actually bought a key for the game, he played like three months to 300ish cp and then lost interest in it.
So all in all 1(ish) out of 5.

Failed a number of times, they always go back to WoW. The reasoning is always the same they dislike the combat and the games performance in trials and pvp is trash tier.

I am pretty sure "UGotBenched91" is asking survey questions...

all of there questions are Feedback Survey like...

    To answer your question

    Divide by 0

" if its a AI, that question was to destroy them"

Blink twice if its you Todd

Nope I’m just trying to make entertaining and conversation starter threads from the usual complaining threads that seem to be the norm on this forum.

Nahh.. no friends here. ESO is my only friend. Often times, not so a trustworthy friend, though. Haaa. Always crashing and bugging out on me like it's crazy or something.

I would love to recommend this game to friends but I can't. Not in the state it's in. I want to keep my friends, not make enemies.

When the game first launched I coaxed three close friends to join ESO. They played for about 6 months (casually) and left saying they didn't enjoy the game.

no one will recomnded eso to anyone at this total garbage stage,,., what you want to recomend super stupdi unbalance full of cheaters broken PVP with super *** performance at the peak ? ..or super boring repetivie PVE where u reauiored to have one specific meta build to be accepted by guilds ?? or P2W systems ... old zones okay but new ones.. u need to have special graphical settings for new zones especialy for solitude. I can have ultra high everywhere but go to solutiude its like russian rulete if the game loads then fine but mostly u crash.. GG ..

No luck here either. I would desperately love to have ANY of my family playing it but they are either not interested in MMOs in general (my dad just equates all MMOs with jerky 13-year-old griefers now after some shooter he played) or they are console players and could not play with me anyway. I could probably recruit quite a few people if they'd fix it so we could play cross platform. Stupid megaservers.

Ugh, that happens in meatspace with biological friends too so stick with ESO.

All my friends that regularly do games made up their mind about ESO before I could recommend it.
Because I loved the TES single player games, and couldn't believe that an MMO could come even remotely close to that. But some of them kept recommending it to me, for being a lot more single player than group focused, so I bought it when it got down to about 10 Euros in Nov 2016, and have been playing ever since.

A friend of mine who hasn't played much more than The Sims so far had to finally buy a new PC some months back. Now in possession of hardware that actually could run current games she asked me if I thought she would enjoy ESO, too, so we could play together now and then. I recommended it to her on the spot. We did the first hours together, voice chatting via Discord, so I could explain things to her. She was quite overwhelmed at first (and still is, in some aspects), but she got the hang of it, and now is happily questing away on her own, having made 4 or 5 characters so far that she's alternating between.

Oh, and I recommended it to my hubby, but his story is the same as mine (loved the single player titles, doesn't care about the MMO part of MMOs), so that was an auto-win.

I think it very amusing that people state you "couldn't recommend this buggy mess of a game to anyone". Because the only things that seem to be problematic are the very things people had to ensure me weren't the main part of the game for me to even start playing it. Veteran-PvE group stuff and PvP. If those were the relevant part of ESO I wouldn't have touched the game with a 10 foot pole to begin with. ;)

Yes my friend played it for just over an hour and that was enough time for him to realise how poorly this game runs.

I'm currently 1/2. An ex colleague tried it, but got overwhelmed pretty quickly. I introduced it to my Son and he enjoys it. But as it was on xbox unfortunately I couldn't play the same time as him. He has a ps4 now and I have a PS5, but I'm reluctant to change systems and start from scratch again.

I'm pretty successful at turning people away that bring up the game. Why would I recommend a game that doesn't get proper care, the community is toxic? This last year was the best glimpse of the game's future, it's obvious they care more about their future IP that's a wip, than their crown store/failing nostalgia cash grab that is ESO.

At my advanced age I no longer have any gaming RL friends, they've all moved on in one way or another. Family-wise, my wife and daughter aren't into gaming, so that just leaves my son, and while he's an avid RPG player and loves TES, he avoids MMOs because he doesn't want to make the time commitment and prefers to dabble with single-player games where he can dip in and out without feeling drawn in long-term. So 0/0 for me, I'm afraid!

    ~2/~10

I suggested it to my wife before it was even in closed target beta, and she was immediately on-board. Although, we left the second week of launch, and didn't officially "come back" until Summerset. Almost every friend I've suggested it to has shot down the idea almost immediately because it's either not like WoW, or it's not a MOBA. The three friends I did get to buy it played for about 2-3 weeks, then left. Two of them are notorious game-hoppers. The third actually ended up buying it on console, because that's just his scene, even though he has a nice PC.

So far I have recruited my Wife, her brother, both of her sisters, my brother, and our best friend.

The biggest reason I fail to recruit someone is lack of hardware. (I play on PC) I failed to recruit 3 people, one didn't have hardware, the other 2 refused to play without the one who didn't have hardware.
