There is no trick. I wish there was. It's all RNG. It took me 10+ hours to get that one.

If you believe in urban legends or folklore, @barigood54_ESO, the following has helped me farm leads:

    1. Make sure to scry and dig a mythic lead before trying to farm another lead of the same mythic item. (For example, if you find the Nilumin River Pearls lead for Pearls of Ehlnofey, dig it up before farming another Ehlnofey lead.)
    2. Never carry any mythic items in character inventory when farming mythic leads. Make sure they're in the bank, housing storage, or safely somewhere else.
    3. Farm each lead on a different character. I used five (5) different characters for both Ring of the Pale Order and Pearls of Ehlnofey.
    4. Do the "harder" leads first (such as the mythic leads tied to group dungeon bosses). Doing those first shortens the timeline on the back end and provides a better picture of the finish line.

IDK what science you follow based off these findings

I farmed my 2nd pale order ring from scratch in 1 hour while equipping a pale order ring and having the wild hunt in my inventory

to OP, there is nothing, farm stuff where they drop from

It's nothing more than pure, often times cruel, RNG.
It took me nearly 8 hours, spread across 4 days, to land that lead.

Would grouping up with everyone else in there help? Then you don’t need to worry about them competing with you for mob kills.

Grouping. Seriously, it takes care of two problems right away, speed and competition. Group up with someone that just one-shots everything (or someone who will just keep up with you as you do that) and you don't have to worry so much about finding empty corridors because someone else is farming there, you have somebody to kill the stuff behind you that just spawned out of your sight, etc. Grouping has gotten my my leads faster than solo farming ever has. I spent a couple of hours in Bthzark with no luck and the first group of mobs that we killed after I grouped up, I got the lead there. I ran into another farmer right after entering BMH and got sent an invite, and I think the 4th mob we killed had the lead. And the RNG *hates* me. You have to trick it into thinking you're not someone it hates with protective camouflage using other people.

Grouping in Bad Man's Hollow for this lead is just another misperception that people think of as a "trick" to help get the lead faster.
Grouping had no effect for me. If it had, I would have found it half as fast. I was grouped the first two days I was in there.
I found it on day 4 when I wasn't grouped.

RNG holds dominion over this lead.

Start the dungeon quest. If you done it already go in on a toon that didn't. It's urban legend too, but worked for me😁

I did it on day one and it literally took like 10 minutes. I helped a guildie do it later that night and it didn't take much longer. There's no magic trick or ritual that you have to do. It's literally just up to the game itself if the dice roll in your favor.

I parked a toon there and it took almost a week of killing mods every day after work for a few hours to get the lead. By the way you will be hard-pressed to find a time people are not in there farming for leads as well.

        Not this

Its just RNG. Go during off times when fewer are playing so you have fewer killing the spawns.

Tips for farming mobs in BMH:
        1. Know where mobs spawn.
        2. Know which mobs have been killed recently.
        3. Avoid bosses as they do not drop the lead (they drop another different lead)
        4. Kill more mobs.
        5. If lead does not drop from your kill, repeat step 4.

I bet you could use a proc set that has an aoe and just stand in a spot that spawns a mob, then walk away! as long as the set kills the mob and you have good recovery it would be easy?!
Come back hours later and check for lead?!

This is possibly the worst pub dungeon to make a lead drop from mobs in. The worst.

Stay on the top floor you enter, 3 packs of mobs that spawn plus a hallway you can range them to you.

Use traps where they spawn & watch tv.

No need to run around the place.

Have to agree on this. I've farmed it 3 times. The longest in just under 2 hours, the shortest in just over 1 hour. I've enjoyed watching people run around like crazy while I stand in one spot and watch TV or read. You know all those times when you kill a bunch of mobs but only loot gold? Yeah, there's a cooldown timer on loot. And I think it's about the same amount of time it takes for a mob to respawn. No point in nuking everything down as fast as you can, you're just hindering other players. Stand between 2 mob spawns, wait for both to spawn, range them both to pull them all to you and kill them all at the same time.

ETA: Same goes for Stone Husk fragments in Labrythian. Picked up 4 in around 2 hours a couple nights ago. That was RNG (and so is the lead), but I almost always get 1 fragment per hour in Labrythian just waiting out the loot cooldown. Of course running around Labrythian is infinitely more fun to me. So I do move about, I'm just not in any big rush.

I think it's just luck. But we would have to see the code itself to be sure. There could be factors built in we don't know about. Though luck itself is probably just a concept beyond our comprehension as humans. A lot of really smart people say true randomness doesn't actually exist and that everything is either caused or triggered by a condition. But I'm getting off track. haha

Anyway: 2 hours isn't that bad. It took me (and many others) a lot longer than that to get ours. So it's normal for it take awhile. It's a pain in the ___ lead.

It's not a misconception. While RNG didn't work out for you, the more mobs you loot the more chances you to grab the lead. And grouping allows you to loot mobs you wouldn't have been able to loot otherwise.
