Outfit Slot Cost

So, one of my favorite things to do in game is make use of the costume system. I’ve collected nearly all of the motifs and style pages. But I also have 16 characters. And at 1500 crowns for ONE outfit slot, that is only for ONE character, its just not worth buying additional slots.

Personally, I would LOVE to see the slots move to an account-wide model, at an increased price. Personally, I would pay upwards of 3000 crowns per account-wide slot.

Or, another option could be a huge discount for something like Black Friday/Cyber Monday. At 100-200 crowns per, I would max out all of my characters. At 500 crowns per, I would get 1-2 additional slots per character.

Has anyone bought any additional outfit slots? If so, how many characters do you have made? Would you rather an account-wide model at an increased price? At what discounted price would you consider buying more?

Thanks for the input!

I looked at getting a second slot, and then saw it was per character. I will not be buying any additional for any character. If it was for all characters (at the current price, not a higher price) I'd consider it.

So much of the crown store is ridiculous as far as pricing, but I guess there are people that pay it so it remains as is. Crown store is one reason I see ESO as just a temporary stop till other MMOs are out.

I did buy one additional outfit slot for one of my mains as I liked their current outfit but really wanted to dress then up for Witches festival and at the time, I’d accumulated more Crowns than there were other things I wanted to spend them on. I do love customizing my characters’ appearance and would buy more if they were 500 Crowns per character instead.

    Agree.

I would buy even at a slightly higher price (3-5k) if it were account wide.
Or if they were 500 apiece but only worked for one char.

Under the current pricing model though - no sale.

If they were account wide I would have bought multiple, but since they are per character I have bought none. Not worth the money to buy something tied to a character that can be deleted or otherwise forgotten. Why I also avoid purchasing consumables from the store.

I think they should be account wide.

I bought two for my main last time they were on sale, and I really found out I like swapping his outfits when I'm in the mood. 100% these should be account wide, since I don't think they're worth 1500 for one character. Even 1k for a single character is pushing it.

Or just make them account wide. There's no reason why something like this shouldn't have been account wide if they're going to have the gall to charge for it in the first place. I'd have rather they made the entire outfit system like a $10 DLC you buy with no strings attached than the money suck it currently is. That's how it would have been done in the good old days.

I don't generally agree with arguments that Crown Store things are "too expensive"...

...except the Outfit Slots, which are absurd. Personally, I think even 1500 Crowns for an account-wide one is on the expensive side. I definitely wouldn't bother with them if they were 3k+.

And yeah, I love making alternate outfits. That was one of the best things in City of Heroes, and I've got like 20 costume slots unlocked on my Star Trek Online characters. (where it's something like 2 account-wide costume slots for... 400 crown-equivalents?)

I agree that they're too expensive.

I like making outfits and I probably would buy at least one extra slot if they were account wide, but there's no combination of outfits I like so much that it's worth paying 1,500 crowns effectively just for a quicker way to switch between them.

I have none and likely never will. I like the outfit system and if it was more reasonably priced or structured I would, but as is it's not even worth considering.

I have a few characters with multiple looks, but their secondary is usually a costume. One character has a costume and multiple outfit setups, but I managed to plan those setups in a way that the color scheme lines up right so I just swap out one or two motifs with a hair and / or hat change, maybe a personality swap and boom, new look same great taste.

I know there's people who do have the outfit slots though so I don't expect the structure to change. I think the best we could hope for is a sale on it, which would still probably be like 1k for one slot on one character, not really worth my time.

I agreed OP. I don't know of ANYONE who thinks is ok to spend 1500 crowns for ONE character outfit slot. We complained about this when the system was launched and all we heard was crickets.

1000 crowns for an additional character outfit slot, for the entire account is more than lucrative for ZOS. If they had reasonable pricing, I would have purchased at least 3 by now. But as it stands I have not purchased an additional character slot, and never will.

So much money being left on the table.

I’ve brought 6 thinking they were acc wide ( I’m always at outfit staying cycling thru outfits so it’s cheaper for me n long run to have more slots )

1500 account wide and I would have purchased several but per character it's a hard no sale from me everyday.

Stay safe and Merry Christmas :)
