Lack of build diversity

Hello. Ive returned to the game after scalebreaker drove me away. What ive come back to looks even worse. Every build I see is almost exactly the same.
Balorg, eternal vigor, 1 trainee, malacaths, endurance, willpower or agility.
What the hell happened? 500 plus sets and this is what we are left with?
It reminds me of the Imperial City days or Bloodspawn/kena, hundings, agility setups that everyone ran on stam classes.

✭✭✭✭✭Balorgh is one of the few offense monster sets that can turn the fight in your favor
Malacath eliminates so many counters
Eternal Vigor has no stat comparison (and should be the standard other stat sets are buffed to imo)
Trainee, willpower etc have no stat comparisons with so few pieces needed.
Essentially I see "BiS" for each setup.
Why isnt there more diversity? Because these sets have so few comparable choices.
Proc sets are diverse because most of them are equally superior to stat sets (in no CP)
Imagine how diverse the meta would be if stat sets were all around EV's strength!1 -

Maybe for CP-enabled, which I've always loathed. No-CP is more diverse right now, but I suppose it's mostly just picking which particular proc sets you want to wear - some of which are absolutely superior to others. That said, if you're playing Stamina builds you don't have to use proc sets in no-CP, as they're basically all entirely viable without any procs. Stamina Templar will probably have survivability issues, but so do plenty of Magicka classes.Every stambuild i see for markarth is this build0 -
Weesacs✭✭✭✭I'm currently playing a stamplar stage 4 vampire ranged build.
Marksmen / swamp raider / 1 kena / ring of the wild mythic.
Nothing meta about this setup and hits like a truck in BGs (I don't play Cyrodill).
The proc sets I see the most in BGs are:
- Crimson twilight
- Venomous smite
- Overwhelming Surge
- Grothdar
- Caluurians Legacy

Also, if people want to copy each other that's up to them. If you don't like these sets then try something different and come up with something yourself. As you said there are loads of sets. I still think there are more combinations these days....nothing amazing in terms of diversity but at least there are more sets involved than in the past:
Syvarra and unleashed StamSorcs
Lots of Crimson plus Syvarra/sheer/pillar
Some venomous smite
Quite a lot of Eternal vigor0 -
Grimlok_S✭✭✭✭✭Eternal vigor is my favourite proc set in the current rotation for BGs.
Though I goofed and played most of last night with only 4/5 pieces in BGs. Didn't notice until I swapped to the toon the 5th piece was stashed on. Wasn't even missing the damage, for some reason.
The sustain is probably overkill for most cp environments, but I haven't found CP cyro to be playable enough to find out. Pretty nice for no-cp/BGs where damage can be a little harder to come by.Light Attack Hero
