Why the cap on "Special Furnishings"? in player houses?

My primary house is the Enchanted Snow Globe, and I'm only allowed to have 8 special furnishings.
This is not nearly enough. I have 19 noncombat cats and 8 cat mounts. I want to be a crazy cat-lady and I cannot do that with such a low cap on special furnishings.

✭✭✭✭✭Zos has previously stated that special furnishings are more detailed. As such they require more resources which is why Zos has the cap on them.2 -
