The PC version of this game was compromised to ensure it worked on consoles.

Even funnier is that the release date for consoles is 3 months away which to me screams 'Paid ESO beta/bug fixing' for those who use the PC so it will be a more polished product for when it does arrive on the ps4/XBone in June... Also have you noticed the EU servers aren't in EU? Watch when it gets closer to the console release date you can be sure they will be up and running in time for that..

I have seen many people defending this game to the death and to those people all I can say is 'good for you'. I appreciate that MMOs have very complex client-server relationships but surely a game with so many progression blocking & game breaking bugs/glitches should have been held back a few weeks? But no instead the company released the game and left it up to there understaffed customer support team to deal with the plethora of complaints from irate customers.. Another thing that got me with this game is the player base, you see customers come to the forums to vent there frustration (which they are entitled to after paying such a premium for this game) and are greeted by trolls who think its perfectly acceptable for a company to sell them a substandard product and charge them a monthly subscription fee whilst they are fixing it ready for console launch.

Obviously I've cancelled my subscription and I will never be returning to the game as they have failed the Elder Scrolls name in every way in my opinion. Bethesda should be ashamed at how poorly this whole thing has been dealt with.

The contents of your post doesn't match the title - how are the problems with the game due to the (later release) console port?

give it time hopefully it will get better time will only tell, I mean every game takes 6 months to iron out most of the bugs . so be patient many of us have lost 40 bank slots 10k gold and been suspended,
but are still playing I think give it a few more months then see how it looks from then , but if you still decide its not good enough then mail me all your stuff well no harm in asking.

For those that don't want to read his post.

He's whining and and telling everyone he is quitting, when in reality he's still playing and has not removed the recurring subscription!

People who actually quit, do so quietly!

It makes business sense to fix all the bugs possible for the pc release before they release the console versions. They can release an update, or if there is an urgent problem release a hotfix for pc any time they want. It isn't as easy for console content that has to go through certification.

How did they compromise the game to make sure it worked on consoles? It was originally intended for pc only. Any "compromises" would have been in from the ground up, not restricted later for the consoles they weren't going to be on in the first place.

Hope you can find a game you'll enjoy that hasn't been compromised or restricted.

I'll not try to post LOGICAL arguments against what you wrote, you're not interested because you clearly label everyone who doesn't agree with your totally negative and unobjective views as a 'troll'.

I do wonder why your bring up Bethesda since they had nothing to do with any of the 'issues' you waffle about, and I don't see why you're in any way apparently surprised and unhappy about it being 'compromise' to work on a console .. I presume you never played Oblivion or Skyrim, because the same thing applied with those as well, both were significantly 'challenged' when it came to their UIs in comparison with Morrowind.

Clearly you never played from another perspective: Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim were bug-fests on release, so Zenimax have followed Bethesda's tradition: just go look back on the Skyrim forums and look at the patch notes, literally dozens of broken quests and other features were fixed in the MONTHS following release, and that was in an off-line game with no massive server-side infrastructure.

No, games shouldn't be released in this state, but they are, time and time after time. If you're too impatient to wait for them to be patched why the HELL did you play this from day one???

You are probably right OP , but im in right now just for the story and the story probably did not change just because of the consoles.

So for now im fine , when i get to vet 10 and finish the story i will think if i keep playing or not.

Console will be released with a different UI and different megaservers. It cracks me up when this game was DEVELOPED for PC and ported to console, people still blame consoles for everything. Its pathetic and childish. If anything, the reason the console version will be released 3 months later is maybe because that is when they are activating the EU servers that are located in the EU. God, I hope that isn't the reason, but it seems to be the logical reasoning behind it.

I've never incountered so many bugs in my life but I'm not canceling just yet. Honestly I think I'll grow bored of the game before bugs and bots are addressed.

6 abilities. light and heavy attack. block = 8 buttons. quickslot. makes 9. probably located on the cross thingy. controlers have 8 buttons plus 2 sticks ...there's no doubt this game was developed with consoles in mind. makes the port easier especially since ps4 and xbox1 are so close to actual pc hardware right now.

This is probably the best reasoning i've read recently about this and very logical.

I'm a PC user and have been for 20+ years and only owned a console once many many years ago for a single game but with the increase in the console market people are naïve to think that a company is not going to aim their products at this increasing group. As much as I dislike it games companies will always have one eye on the consoles at the expense of the PC as they know this is where they are going to generate a lot of income. People passions aside ZOS is a business that's looking for a return on its investment and that's the unfortunate truth.

From my perspective I have played a lot of MMO's some I liked and some I disliked but ESO is a game I like and having a lot of fun playing so will ride it out and see what the future holds but they really do need to address the customer support though.

Skyrim sold 20 million copies on console (way more than PC, by the way) - of course there's going to be interest in bringing Elder Scrolls Online to consoles. However, you know, I don't see any of the problems here as being because of consoles. I mean, Xbox One is Windows 8 kernel with DirectX 11. You develop with .exe files using same DirectX APIs. Latency problems at the moment? Stuck at load screens? Prepare for console to have same issues. The problems here are elsewhere.
