Furnishing Plans for Reach Items

I recently got a nice Reach pergola type furnishing plan (sorry don’t have the exact name now) but found that I didn’t have one of the materials required to craft it.

After some checking, it is a mat that you get from deconstructing Icereach Coven style gear.

Is anyone else upset that a furnishing crafting mat is locked behind a group dungeon?

If I’m missing some other source for this mat please let me know.

"locked behind a group dungeon" is a strong phrase. Icereach is one of the easiest dlc dungeons on vet. So normal Icereach is basically a playground even for solo runs. Do a couple of runs, loot all the bosses and treasure chests, deconstruct the gear with a skilled crafter and craft your pergolas.

If you're on pc and use AwesomeGuildstore, you can set it to search for certain armor and weapons styles. Trawl through a couple of major cities and decon the armors and weapons. That's what I did anyway

Dungeon gear and weapons cannot be sold in guild stores.

OP, I was hoping they'd add that mat to the dailies from the Wayward Guardians and/or by deconning the gear and weapons he gives out as a reward.

As it stands right now it's disappointing (I've ran Icereach a couple of times and only had 2 mats after deconning everything I got).

Yes, I was hoping to get this from the Markarth dailies as well.

Lol, I can remember the outrage at Alinor crafting mats being “locked behind a daily quest”. Now we have to run a group dungeon for the chance to get some, not even a guarantee.

BTW I put my signature out there so I save you guys from asking those “if you’re on PC” questions.

if you know any of the pages in that motif set --- you can craft armor using mimic stones and then decon said armor and get the fryse whatever theyre called from them.

or buy them in a guild trader.

There is workaround if you cannot find style material on market.
1. Buy cheapest Ice Reach motif
2. Craft an item of this style and type using Crown Mimic Stone (you got them from daily reward)
3. Deconstruct item. You have some chance to get material by deconstructing (~50%)

If you play on PC you can find style material using TTC.

You cannot buy the armor and weapons that drop in Icereach, obviously, but you can buy the style mat itself, fryse wilow or whatever its called. Its quite cheap compared to other special style mats such as culandas, hackwings or shimmering sands (last time i checked around 180g compared to 2-3k on pc eu). I dont expect them to get that that level, as there are far less reach furnishings and theyre not as attractive as alinor or Elsweyr. Currently im sitting at around 180 of them from running the dungeon for motifs.

On a side note, thanks to new life event, people are trying to push prices for hearthwood to 2k gold :x Housing for sure is expensive

Yeah, I don’t mind buying style mats from dlc dungeons for master writs, but I think it’s an oversight that this style mat is not being made available from dailies to do furnishing crafting. It’s the only one I know of.

I don’t know how many Reach furnishings there are, maybe there aren’t a lot.

I don’t know how many Reach furnishings there are, maybe there aren’t a lot.

There are 3 that I know of:
Reachmen Pergola, Ivy
Reachmen Chandelier, Shaded
Reachmen Chandelier, Gnarled

So maybe it’s not as plentiful as Alinor furnishings that you need to add Culanda Lacquer to the daily quest rewards.

I guess I’m concerned at the way style mats have gone from farming nodes to get mats directly, to refining 10 to get one mat, to getting them from dailies, to getting them from group dungeons.

They’re just wearing us down to where we go farther each time to get what we need. No one else even seems concerned at this point.

I suppose it depends on your playstyle and what you enjoy doing. I run dungeons anyway and dlc dungeon motifs are my main source of income, so i'd love if more rare furniture style mats dropped there.
On the other hand, for me daily quests for world bosses and delves are tiresome and boring. I always feel exhausted after doing few and rather buy those culandas.

Yeah, I do those dailies for the achievements and to farm the motif pages from them.

I only run the new dungeons once. Despite the prevailing opinion that everyone can get a pre-made dungeon group, I am not able to do so and have lost patience waiting in the dungeon queue as dps. It such a huge waste of time and boring for me.
