Will Gates of Obvlion be good? Also they really should take notes on Elswheyr with their dragons being world events. We don't need more re-skinned anchors to fight. Please.

I just hope they fix this game, the amount of harm done to performance between u25 to now is insane. I don't know if I'll buy the next chapter if they don't offer some very specific and serious promises regarding performance.

Based on past expansions, you'll get some sort of reskinned Geyser/dragon/harrowstorm that everyone will swarm at launch and nobody will be doing months later, resulting in a really skewed gameplay experience.

I don't know, I haven't played it and it isn't finished yet. We don't even know the features in the abstract until next month.

This is even more annoying than the people who were confident Cyberpunk 2077 would be the best game ever made a year before it was released (and at least 2 years before it is in a finished state).

The writing in Greymoor was very weak, and the story a bit of same old, reluctant heroes, and boring villains. The only interesting bit, imo, was Rada al-Saran, because it was nice to have a three-dimensional villain with complex motives, instead of a caricatoure, but he was given very short screen time sadly. Also, the quality of the dialogues was not very good this year either, so I'm hoping that next chapter will improve on that, because Dark Heart was a bit of a let down, compared to other years. Generally though, the game does questing better than it does anything else, so from this point of view, and given that we are dealing with a Prince/realm, we haven't much dealt in the ESO universe, bar a few instances here and there, it's definitely an exciting potential. But on the other hand, a new content, means pilling up more code on top of an already bad code, and they still haven't fixed all the problems from Markarth, which were added to a list of existing problems, making gameplay a lot more unstable, or flat out impossible. I have dopped my ESO+ for this reason, and although I'm interested in the reveals, there is a cerain fatigue that comes from trying to play with so many performance issues, and being let down by their fixes that at best put a band aid, and worst don't work at all.

I've enjoyed each of the new Chapters, stories and quest, I have no doubts that this new Chapter will be just as good, my concern comes with the playability of the game, that's the bigger question for me. I skipped out of this last event only because of all the issues, bugs and crashes.

Performance didn’t go the way I thought it would. It feels half completed.

I do enjoy the new content because I still enjoy playing eso, as many still do. This time I just have many doubts and fatigue from all the constant changes.

Thankfully there are some other a**kick games rn that I can hop back and forth to.

I use to just play eso only but with all the issues I found more fun finding other titles for PvP. Also, there is new game that just came out for enjoyable a change of pace.

Still going to play eso because it is a beautiful game and special to me.

There's little to no information about it yet, so the only reasonable answer is to not know.

There are some things we can reasonably guess. The chapter expansions have gotten extremely formulaic. Frankly, they've gotten formulaic to the point of stifling innovation in the design. Formulaic isn't inherently a bad thing, but something truly new and different would be welcome. The engine has all this instancing technology - I wish they had used it in Greymoor. Greymoor needed it. Imagine if Karthwatch had been an actual, functioning town up until the point you triggered a particular story quest. It'd have felt so much more impactful to go to it later and see it in such disarray. And later, once a certain quest was done, that instance could change again to show them rebuilding.

Then again, poor Bleakrock Isle is perpetually on fire after completing the zone story threre, so apparently I expect too much...

We haven't dealt much with Mehrunes Dagon in ESO, but I played TES IV Oblivion. At this point, I'm looking for ZOS to show me something that isn't distilled nostalgia for past TES games.

After Vvardenfell, dragons, Skyrim, and now what looks like directly rehashing elements of Oblivion, I'm not hopeful.

I should probably say "Don't know," but I'm sure I'll enjoy it regardless.

    Truth time:

I never actually completed all of zone questlines for any of the chapters and DLCs after Clockwork City. (Gasp!)

Oh, I've done most of the side quests, delves, and group bosses in those zones; I just haven't played my way through the entire zone questlines, with the exception of Northern Elsweyr (to get the free house).

And to be perfectly honest, I haven't even set foot in Markarth yet (double and triple gasps!), even though I bought the Digital Collector's Edition as soon as it was available.

The thing is, I want to own all of the playable content, even content that I'm in no great hurry to ever play (the dungeon DLCs), but after my initial year of running around Tamriel like a mad person and doing all of the alliance zone quests completely out of order, I've slowed down, I now enjoy taking my time with the content, and I'd like to do the zone quests in their proper order.

So, yeah, I'm excited for 2021's chapter and DLCs, and by then I might even be caught up with the other zones, but I'm not very concerned about whether PvP and lich bosses and whatever get fixed to 1000% of their intended functionalitu-- and I actually feel like the content could function spotlessly yet a certain percentage of the playerbase would still find something to gripe about, be it something about the story, or something about the characters, or something about the colors of the rocks, etc.

Probably the same as the others. Story will be decent and there'll be a lot to do, but the drop will cause some major things to break and it'll take them a few weeks for fix completely, which will sour the communities entire opinion on the expansion because the game will be "literally unplayable" for the twentieth time. Then in a few months they'll announce the next part and the whole cycle starts again.

I just have to shake my head at seeing this thread and others like it.

We have a trailer that doesn't reveal much of anything.....and that's it. And you're ready to cast judgement? But I suppose this is just par for the course with the rest of today's society. At least Cyberpunk 2077 actually did turn out to be the greatest game ever made with no bugs whatsoever.

    Oh, whoops....

How about reserving judgement until after we actually know something.

It will be solid as usual. Whether it will be good or not for me, will exclusively depend on the combat and balance changes they will do. Those chapter quests are forgotten after a day. What sticks are the combat changes and the sets and systems they add.

So that will decide it. Divines know, we are in dire need of set balance and some class balance.

We will see. I expect a tiny zone which still feels empty, an angsty-princess-who-grows-balls, the obvious villain, a story I will not remember and dready but unrewarding group events. Some to be nerfed and alredy useless sets, rare alchemy mats, time gated daily &cet. Also chained doors.
    But I could be wrong.

It will mess things up, obviously. EVERYTHING that has been done for the past 5 or years messed things up, and the trend is even worse since they decided to push special content episodes over a year. I don't see how that can change.

Its to early to tell, we really dont even know where were going. Hints would seem to be pointing to skingard but its not concrete. Personally I think were getting eastern cyro as the chapter and western cyro and the dlc zone. Western seems small for a chapter imo. Dont know what other new feature is either, that can really help a chapter. It also probably depends on your interests, imperial lore isnt really a big interest to me, I have friends that love imperial everything. Characters also are huge, we think sharp-arrow is coming back but we dont know who else or what the new characters are like.

    What is good?
    Beautiful zone - most likely.
    Good story - entirely possible.
    Fun new systems - maybe.
Getting balance together - if someone here has more luck than Gaenor.
No bugs and good performance - when Todd stops trying to sell Skyrim, lol.

I'm probably in the minority of the playerbase, that hasn't played the previous titles, so every realm is new for me, but I get that for long-term fans, milking on the nostalgia might get annoying. Also, it's easier for them design-wise, which might also read as cheap

    Just spit balling here..
A visually pleasing product will be released only to be completely ruined by broken gameplay, continued crashes and blue screens. This includes one to two crown store issues that will be promptly fixed while core components will be left broken for months on end, some of which were identified early on in PTS testing. This will be compounded by little to no communication to the player base, leaving some angry and confused. Many will complain while most will continue to throw money to collect shiny cosmetics, many of which are just reskinned pressies from years past.
