Please: If you don't have guild struggles that is great but this post is a space for those of us that do....you can always make your own post about how perfect and wonderful the eso guild system is and how much you love your guilds etc. Thank you kindly.
My BIGGEST struggle is the fact that if you join one guild, all your characters are forced to be in that guild. I get it many players love it, i hate it.
I would love to be able to login to my rp character and not have her be in 4 other guilds for example. I would also love to have a few of my characters not be in guilds at all.
I know you can be offline but its a pain tbh...if i want to do a dungeon i have to remember to go online again etc just one example.
Trading guilds taking advantage of their members YES it is happening a lot and they tgink we are all too stupid to notice.
Guilds that expect the members to do all the work....why make a guild and expect members to craft for free, recruit, run events while gm sits on his ass while he does absolutely nothing...too many guilds like this.
Guilds asking for vma clears, vdsa clears ...pretty much all vet speed runs and hard mode to have a chance of progressing with them...they offer boring crappy normals runs then spend the whole run flexing about how hard their vet trials are and just chatting among themselves while doing a normal? A lot of the time they get drunk and just be clicky and act like they are doing you a favour by being in their godly presence
I cringe evertime I see a guild recruit they are all just a clone of each other.....it's the absolute copy paste parse, gear, build requirements....
Every freaking guild discord is copy paste of each other
Meme channel...what, are you all 2 yrs old?
Cooking channel cos ya know everyone that plays rpgmmos has to know how to cook....who cares ffs
Cat freaking pics OMG
Every freaking eso player must own a cat? I guess cos they ge too lazy to go walk their dog?
Why not keep game guild discord game related...
There is nothing unique just the names and most are starting to copy each other on that too...sad sad sad
I struggle with the fact that I cannot chose in which slot a guild is. Sounds like a weird problem I know, but the thing is, everytime my “passive” guilds, (slot 3-5) change I have to redo the different chatcolours. And this happens pretty frequent tbh, no one to blame about that.

Oooh, good point! I have specific colors so I can tell at a glance if its important (the PVP guild) or general chatter in the trading guild.
I wish there there a setting were I could copy colors across characters too. Unless there is and I've just missed it.

There are numerous addons that will either copy your settings across characters or simply over-ride the default settings with your "account wide" choices, allowing you to do this.

I felt this thread almost had a point until it basically devolved into being upset at how other people enjoy themselves.

Easiest solution is to start your own if in your perception others are that flawed.

As a GM, I started my own guild because I wanted to have my own community within ESO. Guild chats are completely color-coded capable, and able to be turned off within your chat options. There's no reason that anyone shouldn't be able to do this.
But seriously, with a GM sitting around doing nothing? I seriously encourage you to found your own guild and see how far you'll get if that is your idea of how guilds work. I'm not stating that I do everything, not at all. I have wonderful staff to my guilds and great members, but I still participate and engage on my own/on behalf of the guild.
Trading guilds taking advantage of people? Try running one, once again. It's something you need to experience in my opinion. Unless you can elaborate on HOW/WHAT they're doing to take advantage of you.
Copy/Pasting PVE specs I assume? PVE is pretty meta based from what I understand/see. I'm not a huge PVE player anymore by choice. I prefer to PVP, but I still PVE to engage with my guildies and all.
Otherwise, who are you to criticize people for having fun with their social interactions in their private discords? If you don't like it, you don't have to participate. There's no reason for lashing out at others. This was well enough said right here:I felt this thread almost had a point until it basically devolved into being upset at how other people enjoy themselves.

Trading guild taking advantage of newer players...telling them to place items cheap then buying them and flipoing them which is happening a lot on all those new lil trade guilds popping up every day
Also, I have bought many items from my own trader, as I shop at home first and support my guild members, not rip them off.
Just to clarify, as a guild master, I put in about 16 hours a week at least on guild management, events and improvements. We are currently working together as a guild to outfit our guild hall with all the set crafting stations, which is the last improvement needed, unless ZOS adds new things.
Yes we have asked our members to help and they have, a lot! I am not getting rich here, it is actually a ton of extra work doing all the master writs and hunting down and buying motifs (out of my own gold, not the guilds) to do them. We are at 37 of the 62 needed sets, which means on top of our weekly trader fee's, we need an extra 25 million gold or the equivalent in master writs/materials to get them. I personally have donated over 5 million gold to the project so far.
In the end, this will benefit all our members and be a huge QoL improvement for those that do not otherwise have access to a full crafting hall.
I get so tired of reading these guild leaders are evil posts and we are controlling the marketplace, ripping off our members and swimming in the piles of gold we stole from the little people. Try running a guild, it is a HUGE amount of work, unless your guild literally does nothing.

It's great that you do that, but I don't think it helps your cause to dismiss legitimate concern though. There are bad guilds out there, and while you may have been lucky enough to never run into them, many others have.
