HAhA! I found out how to post on the forums again. turns out I had to click on a catagory. anyways,returning player looking for help with pvp builds, this new patch be scaring me,my glass cannon builds have finally shattered,and need some help if its ok.

Basically full glass cannon builds don't work anymore with the current meta. Even my own build which is very glassy I ended up having to buff my health a little if I wanted to be able to survive the damage people have been able to throw with proc sets. Way I personally got around this is 1 monster set, one damage set, and then I threw on Clever Alchemist mostly for the health buffs. I sometimes get rid of Clever Alchemist's 5 piece bonus for a mythic like Malacath's Band of Brutality or the Ring of the Pale Order in order to either add more effective damage or reduce my damage to turn a fraction of it into self healing.
My current PVP build for my magDK uses Zaans/Maw of the Infernal, Burning Spellweave, 4 pieces of Clever Alchemist, and the Ring of the Pale Order with the Vampire skill line. Since ZOS made its Cyrodiil changes, and I'm mostly a solo player, the Ring of the Pale Order works perfectly for me, and it allows me to use Blood for Blood for essentially free. With all my DoTs running the ring helps me not be so glassy as well, but if I end up grouping up I'm having to completely rely on my own healing. Some exceptions do exist like minor lifesteal being applied to your targets and synergies, but when you use the BfB skill and/or Ring of the Pale Order you sacrifice all group healing. Use it at your own peril.

And yeah,Im seeing Cleaver Alchemist used a lot....as well as Overwelming Surge on Dk's.
Crimson Twilight is being used by everyone and their mother right now so its likely going to be targeted next patch.
Im guessing the changes to things like crit chance among other stuff (like with champion point passive with the 9%..or was it 12%?cantremember.but going to like 3% now) may have to do with the heavy armor tank meta we are seeing..
Im tempted to craft clever Alchemist,I already have pale order and malacath rings but...always had trouble finding a place for them to fit...incredibly used to running 2piece monster set to the point of ocd but im wondering about that on other characters,as ive had success(abiet very limited) on a magblade ganker that dies if you look at him funny. although granted that was the point of said character.
I used to run a pretty all around build on mag dk- 5piece bright throats,5-piece destruction Mastery or Stratagist+ Skoria, Fire staff and resto..molten whip combo with fossilize, chains(or chains then Fossilize),fire breath, claws, whip.
But right now...been wondering about Skoria..and really want Zaans but need the helmet still.
Overwhelming on body may do wonders,and I still have a legendary one handed of bright throats boast around when I tried to make a vampire build on greymore release..but..yeah
May be able to craft some light armor clever alchemists and give that idea a shot. but need to wait on trait research first.
But said set may also be perfect for 2piece monster + 2 five piece sets + mythic set,with 5/6 piece backbar alchemist and 4 piece front bar(on body)
Oh but yeah Magcro seems to be a lost cause at the moment. think im going to leave him until future patches or new skilines

Hope you mean Empowering Chains and Fossilize, because Unrelenting Grip is a pull ability. Pulls count as heavy crowd control and after you pull them in they gain heavy crowd control immunity negating the ability to use Fossilize on them.
Now Unrelenting Grip and Dark Talons is a good combo as you are able to get the light crowd control of immobilization on them after the pull.
Ah, okay. I used to use Empowering Chains but got a bit put off by the server positioning issues in heavy lag and migrated more to having something like Race Against Time on my back bar. Helps me get into and out of a fight quickly, gives me a nice damage shield when I hold block over a flag, and the minor force buff is neat if I'm not running Malacath's Ring of Brutality.
Then again Empowering Chains snares the target, deals damage, gives you major expedition, gives you the empower buff, and pulls you to them. I get empower through the Mage's Guild skill Degeneration, as well as major sorcery, so I never had a use for the gap closer. It is however a great counter to high mobility Sorcerers and Nightblades since you can can just pop to their location. Depends on the build and your fighting style I guess.
oh I use it for the stacks for Molten Whip. Used to use Flame Lash for the healing but the extra damage Molten Whip gives when its used right is just too much to pass up on.

I see! I still use Flame Lash for sustain reasons as the Power Lash proc costs 50% less to cast and deals about 15% additional damage. I imagine you get far more DPS than me with Molten Whip, but if I get a constant stream of off balance targets my sustain is pretty good.
oh yeah I usually run tripots on an argonain character,sustain is ok but does require some managing as will run out if not careful. but a few patches ago before Greymore,if I got my combo off successfully, it wouldnt matter because errr..well..most players would be dead in No Cp Pvp,leaving only the tankiest or most mobile left...if I did manage to get the full combo off though. damnit thats probably why im stuck in the high mmr battlegrounds hellscape against grand war overlords when im barely a medicore player in pvp lol..
And I would use Clouding Swarm to finish off people running away. damn I miss that Ult..it would surprise people so much..and apply heaps of pressure..
A free gapcloser that could be used at any range,that did the same damage as a spammable,with the added player based Aoe on top of it was..really surprisingly powerful. and I miss it so much..instead it got replaced by Doller Store...err..something that isnt a vampire lord.
I would say what it looks like but last time I did I got the message removed and a slap on the wrist because it had the name of a narcotic+ pire as the name.
because really...my eyes..they need mercy from that skill line nowdays...
but yeah. clouding swarm was greater then people gave it credit for. especially since a lot of people would panic too when it was used,as they try to kite you around a tree or a rock only to have you constantly pressure them..
damnit im getting previous patch nostalgia..didnt even know that was a thing...

Clouding Swarm was my favorite ultimate in ESO like how the old Stone Giant was my favorite stun in ESO. Sadly like all the things I love in this game they get taken away and replaced.
