Does the 45% ring affect mount speed?

New toon is just up for lv50, riding skills are poor ,need to max out mage guild and Psiji Order skill lines, have to repeat a lot of ' travell from A to B' actions
I am planning to get one if the answer to the top is Yes.
TYSM!

    No, it does not.

However it makes you run almost as, if not faster, than a horse at max riding speed and no Major Gallop buff.

Yeah, if you want to go faster than 200% speed on a mount with a maxed horse, you need major Gallop. I have a ROTH on almost everyone of my Alts at this point. If they dont have rapids, it's not worth mounting. Sprint is just as fast.

In fact, correct me if I am wrong, but I think it's exactly the same. A ROTH will likely put you at the speed cap without much trouble when sprinting (200%) and I believe a fully leveled horse without rapids is also 200%.

Whatever it was I'm sure it can be solved with a dragon break.

^ This. Especially on new chars where you don't have rapid and your horse speed also low, you're much faster faster just using the ring.

Another advantage of ROTH is that you do not need to mount/dismount while you are doing tedious activities on the map. It can save a lot of time when you are gathering or hunting for chests, etc.

There is one advantage of mounts over running with ROTH, is that you can move around hostiles much easier given you have the assassin passive that reduces aggro range. Problem is with ROTH when you need to navigate through monsters, it is easy to get in an endless combat phase where the speed drops significantly.

I have a ROTH on my character that does surveys and speed runs solo through FG1 for event tickets. It was a nice quality of game life improvement.

Ring I've used some time but I finally got around installing dressing room and trying some sneak sets (those are cheap on traders even in divines trait) on my Khajit nb vampire crafter. I don't think there is any reason to mount any more.

Edit: I'm not sure if my sneak speed is 200% but it's close.

Unless you don't want annoying overland adds to slow you down and you have Shadow Rider

    Ring of the Wild Hunt

Mythic ring. You need Greymoor chapter, then do Antiquities leveling (join the Antiquities Digginz Club at Solitude), and of course find the Leads that drop from Dungeon bosses, Delve bosses and so on in certain places with luck (means might need to grind some of them dozens of times for hours).

Check some pages like Alcast one for guides if not yet familiar with Antiquities/Mythic items. And if on PC use addon called DisplayLeads so you can always check on location where to grind the Leads. :)
