Why no completed quest log?

See topic. Most other RPGs and MMOs give the player a list of quests they've completed, just for reference. Would be super helpful in ESO, imo.

I have seen other games without a completed quest log so it is not a standard-issue item. I have never found an issue with not having such a log but understand some people might find it to be a nice-to-have.

In the end, the reason ESO does not have one is Zos chose to not add one or did not consider it. In the same token, if Zos chose to add it the list for existing characters would be incomplete. New systems tend to not include previous accomplishments.

ESO had a complete quest log in the Journal during Closed Beta, but it was removed for reasons only god knows. It was quite a valuable page to trace what was done...

It could well be a performance-related issue, yet more data to carry around when you log in, move zones etc.

I would find it handy occasionally, but it's not a game-breaker for me.

You can look in achievements under Journal and go into any category and look at either quests completed, quests uncompleted or all quests. I do it all the time to see what I have left to do.

Harven's Quest Journal does that, but ofc it's not retroactive, so everything completed before installing it is lost.

Journal Quest Log is retroactive, I think.

There are no achievements for overland side quests, only how much quests in the zone you've done. Or am I missing something?

Please try imagining, for a moment, this game attempting to load a completed quest log for a player who has been here since 2014. This game, which crashes while completing even the simplest of activities, such as crafting and fast travel. Now imagine this game attempting to load completed quest logs for more than one player.
