FEATURE REQUEST: role setting on friends and guild member listings

all too often I want to find a tank or healer and I don't' know if any of my friends or guildmates are setup as a tank or healer, since all classes can do these roles. I talked with some addon creators and they said that it cannot be done (for them) outside of group setting. So for developers I'd like to see a role symbol on the lists to indicate their role.

Both guilds and friends lists are account wide, and we can have more than one character. Some people might play with only one char, but the vast majority plays more than one.

I'm one of the former type of player and yet I have a healer and a tank (both neglected). I have both friends and fellow guildies who will switch to different chars for different roles, though. How would the game classify those players?

A work-around is to add notes on your friends' list - something along the lines of "person X (note reads: has a tank)". Those notes can also be added to people in the guild roster, but I'm not sure who inside the guild can do it (as in, can anyone add/edit notes or is it limited to GMs/officers?).

I put notes next to people on my friends list with relevant information, including potential roles.

Guild notes are permissions-based and it's either all or nothing, so don't go editing notes in guild without consulting the leadership (if you even can).

But a lot of people who are interested in group content will put their preferred roles in the guild notes if they can.
