Has anyone else tried to recreate their ESO characters in a Skyrim playthrough & how did it go?

I currently play 12 different ESO characters so for funsies I tried recreating them as best I could in a Skyrim playthrough. Obviously an exact replica is not possible but I modelled them as near as I could with weapon types, armor types, type of magic use, etc.. Gotta say all 12 have gotten annihilated rather quickly lol. The biggest problem I've encountered is acquiring a good complement of their spells for my magic users before being struck down. The furthest I've gotten is my Orc Necro tank type who made it to lvl 8 before falling to an enclave of sorcerers. How about you?

My Dunmer "Dragonknight" did fairly well, but I've found that one-hand, shield, and flame spells make for a pretty easy early game in Skyrim.

Unfortunately, she fell prey to the thing that kills most of my Skyrim characters: I get bored somewhere after killing Mirmulnir because I've played the game so many times I know all the quests.

Well i did recreate my skyrim character in ESO. It mostly worked. Not exactly the same but mostly.

You can make a fairly effective build that does a pretty good job replicating the basic feel of a pet sorc heavy attack build by heavily using the Wall of Storms spell and Conjuration magick.

In a general sense I did the opposite - I use roughly the same character in all TES games: a khajiit focusing on bladed weapons, medium/light armour, destruction and restoration magic, as well as stealth and lockpicking.

In ESO she's a templar, because the class skills mainly determine the kind of magic you can use and since I tend towards fire-themed destruction skills the templar was the best fit.

I was a bit disappointed with it in Skyrim actually, because in Morrowind it was a ridiculous mess of skills and attributes which was really hard to make work, in Oblivion it was workable but still odd, and then in Skyrim it felt like just a normal build. I suppose in a way it's good that it was easier to use, but it felt less unique. ESO is kind of the same - dual wield, medium armoured templar isn't unusual, although people do periodically tell me khajiit is a weird choice for a templar.

Yeah but it's about replicating your ESO characters. Not necessarily an "effective build".

You asked about recreating a character and how it went. I described a specific type of playstyle being replicated, some basics on what was used to replicate it, and described it as fairly effective, meaning it went fairly well.

    What am I missing?

Oh this was your ESO character? It came across as just a build suggestion.

Ah, I may have been unclear then. Fair enough.

I don't find the characters I play in ESO to be anything I want to play in Skyrim. While they work fine in ESO (I have multiples of every race and class -- except argonian and orc for race, necromancer for class) I don't play anything in Skyrim but Bosmer stealth archer with OP bow and Khajiit sneak-thief with katana - and neither of those translated well to ESO either.

Extremely poorly. In pretty much any game but ESO I play with a bow/melee when given the option (stealth archer in Skyrim FTW). For me personally, that playstyle isn't really possible or fun in ESO.

In ESO, I am best as a magicka DD. I tried to make a similar character in Skyrim, but staves in Skyrim are terrible and I don't really like playing as a magicka-based character in general. Give me my DW maces + bow any day.

Well my main on ESO is a very pretty wood elf and I tried to recreate her on vanilla Skyrim, for some reason I had forgotten that wood elves are horrid looking in Skyrim however so yeah it didn’t go so great ☹️

I tried to recreate my MagDen not too long ago in Skyrim SE, with the Arcane Accessories creation for the Pride of Hirstaang spell. The bear that got summoned from that spell had a level cap of 30 unfortunately and a HP reduction of 100, so I had to make a patch that removed those restrictions. :3

I wore Light Armor rather than robes and using Alteration armor spells, because I think those spells may be a bit like shifting or changing form which is something Y'ffre doesn't like. So I wore Hide/Studded/Scale armor with a fur cloak and switched over to Stalhrim when I arrived in Solstheim :)

I also used all 3 elements of Destruction rather than just Frost since it's Skyrim after all :p with lots and lots of Frost resistant/immune enemies. Also, I don't think Wardens are pure frostcasters anyways. I did only take the Frost perks from Destruction, in honor of ESO's Warden.

The result was... a lightly armored mage with a summonable bear. Minus the bear, it's something I have done a bunch of times alrdy so it wasn't an exciting playthrough :/

TES:V is very limited on choice in fur patterns for Khajiit. There's only even one single Mod on the Nexus for a texture replacer and that just gives you either Grey Cat, or Leopard. I always go with the Grey Cat.

Though I have tried kind of mimicking an ESO character, without much success. I just end up going with what I feel like playing in that specific game. My latest character ended up being One Hand and Spell, a Skill line I WISH was in ESO.
