Chairs in houses suddenly unsittable

This problem started happening for me with the release of the Markarth update. A lot of chairs and benches in my houses were suddenly unsittable, for no reason. When I move them with the housing editor, they show as green, but I still can't sit on them. If I move them to another part of the house, I suddenly can sit on them, but random little areas of the house seem to just not work anymore, no matter how I place things. Other friends have reported similar issues. For some, it seems to work if they move the chair to another part of the house, and then undo. For a while, this worked for me too - except in the case of benches, only one out of the four possible sitting places on the seat worked, and when I ported out of the instance and back in, it went back to fully not working. Now, this workaround doesn't work either. Please fix this.

If it's too hard to make chairs work properly under the "correct" conditions, why not make them sittable no matter how we place them? Worst-case scenario, someone creates a chair that clips us inside something, but so what? It's a player house - just port back to entrance if you're stuck.

I play on PC NA, though I know this issue has happened across platforms and servers.

    (snip)

This is an odd one. It also affects public chairs and benches that are outside but not inside buildings in Daggerfall. One time, they work great. Port out and back - or even just leave the city and return - and they are unusable. This is an odd one.

I also had some placement issues with crafting stations in my home surface around the Markarth update. Had to move them further away from a wall to use them.

    EDIT: Typo

I began noticing this problem in November. Sometimes I find a fix to make the chair work (such as putting a salvaged plate under it to make sure the surface is even). I come back the next day and it no longer works. Today my character got up from her chair, went into the other room to craft, and when she returned the chair was no longer sitable. (I did not use F5 during that time period.)
