Clearing Athenian Archive for the first time and I am not talking about vAA. Yes, there was a time that clearing vAA and vHRC were interesting. That was when both were new and the level cap was v14.
I remember the tank dying on the Whisp Mother. Since I was raid lead I asked what they did. They tried to get fancy and as a result, they dropped block for just a moment and go hit by the boss. lol.
Of course, that trial is far too easy today and we get a lot fancier when clearing it than we did back in the day.

Ooof the good old days. Honestly can't tell if it's just nostalgia or the game was much better designed. I'm referring to the PvE aspect here, specifically the importance of the "trinity". A healer was as important as the tank in any vet content. Nowadays I opt for 3dd runs for 95% of vet dungeon content.
But yeah, similarly to you my most memorable experience is from a trial before they even had veteran versions. It was the sanctum ophidia last boss on hard mode and I can still vividly remember mashing healing spring like crazy everytime she did the poison phase. After wiping on the last 10% for what felt like weeks (maybe it was, can't remember), getting her down was exhilarating.
