Can I apply the key from the Greymoor digital collectors edition to my existing account?

I already have the base game. I'm wondering if I get the Greymoor digital collectors edition; can I just add that to my account? According to the detail that comes with the base game, which I already have. But I would like the extra content included in the collectors edition. Also, the account I already have has like 10k crowns, and I don't want to lose those.

Just to clarify, I'm talking about buying the full Greymoor digital collectors edition from a third party site, not the ESO store. What I want to know is can I take the key I get for that and apply it to my existing account, and get all the extras from the digital collectors edition and keep my 10k crowns from the account I already have?

Yes, @Gojak, you can apply the Greymoor Collector’s Edition to your existing account.

I know that the codes the ESO Stream Team had as giveaways came with all of the CE & Pre-Order bonus mounts, pets, emotes, maps, etc. - if your code is from a similar source. Welcome! It’s buggy and beautiful.

I just don't want to lose the 10k crowns on my current account. The full Greymoor digital CE comes with the base game and Greymoor, the digital CE stuff, plus Elsweyr, Morrowind, and Summerset.

The Greymoor digital CE upgrade just comes with Greymoor and the digital CE stuff, but NOT Elsweyr, Morrowind, and Summerset.

So that's why I'm asking, basically just want to make sure I don't lose the 10k crowns I already have.

The site says the game is provided a key from Game Registration Code.

make sure it's the greymoor digital collectors upgrade edition.... then you can buy from a third party website(if you can trust the website) and just add the key to your existing account... but make sure it's the upgrade edition first

yeah if you take the one with summerset etc... that is for an entirely new account meaning you cannot add it to and existing account..... the upgrade edition can be added to an existing account... it can get confusing with all the editions eso has but a general rule to follow is that if it says upgrade its safe to add to and existing acount

You could buy the complete version and set it up as a second account. Transfer your ESO+ (if you have it) to the new account and gift crown store items from the first account when you want them. You would not be able to bring any progress or previously unlocked crown store items to the new account, however.

Couldn't I just use the "redeem code" part of my account and do it that way without needing another account? Or do I 100% have to apply the key to a new account?

I've never bought any parts of the game from an outside source. You can try using the code, I can't comment on whether it will work.

My brainy-parts tend to go at things a little sideways. After a couple posts claimed it wouldn't work, my mind went "okay, but I bet this other way would work".

I would really like to hear someone who has tried it give a yea or nay.

    This is correct.

There is a Collector Edition which is a free standing edition for new accounts, then there is the Collectors Edition Upgrade which is the version you can apply to existing accounts.

Be sure to confirm it is the UPGRADE version before you buy it, otherwise you will not be able to attach it to your existing account.

edit: and yes I understand that the full version gets you much more for only $40 extra. Getting Summerset, Morrowind and Elswyer for $40 is a pretty good price considering they are all 3500 crowns (around $35) each in the store right now. But I believe they do this for new customers only to get them a foot in the door, and to persuade others to sub since you can get access to all three while subbed.

edit 2 : actually Morrowind is included with base game now so it's just Elswyr and Summerset that are part of the extra $40.
