i mean many many things are viable, it just depends on how much determination you put into it

@Waffennacht Made a build around it for PvP. There was discussion about Light/Med/Heavy, and the consensus was it's better suited for Med/Heavy.

It's extremely strong. Completely negates the negative of running light which is resistance values, you get sustain from being In light, then just throw a damage set and whatever monster set you want then boom, op as hell.

You're honestly gonna get more mitigation in PvP with impregnable or Riposte.

Did all the math, your opponent would have to be running very low crit chance and crit Modifiers to make brass stronger than Impregnable.

It's not OP because you're sacrificing an entire set to gain that mitigation. It's not OP because other sets will provide a higher amount of mitigation

It's awesome because it's crafted and is also gonna give you something to run a random dungeon event with your PvP toon in

why bother when you have wizard's riposte?
for your question Its a strong set but you lose stats for it so you gotta theorycraft your build very carefully.

Riposte and trans offer similar mitigation on the 5 pc, have superior 2-4 pc and only need to be on 1 bar

On what class? If you have a dmg shield, who cares about resistances, why not go with wizards riposte?

I do run it on my magplar because I'm too lazy to pull out Impregnable pieces (and my brass is all enchanted etc)

And the only reason I feel that works is because I don't run a shield on my BoL bar

Riposte I would run if I wasn't trying to sell my pieces

Fortified Brass is nice for those moments when your shield is broken, which will happen a lot in PVP (when focused) and even in PVE, where FB is obviously better. 8k resistance is like a 13% damage reduction or something? I’m tired and literally about to go to bed, but it’s around that figure.

And does ripostie work when crit damage is calculated or when it is taken? I thought shields couldn’t be critted. I’m sure someone has tested this already, and I’d be interested in the findings.

You can critically hit a shield, you just don't deal any critical damage (until splash damage)

Also remember that Riposte is a debuff which has cons and pros. Con is that it can be purged. Pro is that when it is not purged it makes your whole group takes 15% less damage, not only you which is very important in group play.
I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.

The odds of not being debuffed in large scale PVP are low. That’s how zergs work, by constant purging and ultimate spamming.

With reposte, if someone (or multiple people) hits you with their first few attacks and they do not crit, you take all of the damage. At least with Fortified Brass, you take less damage from all attacks prior to a crit and continue to take less damage after. And it cannot be purged.

It's not OP. PvP players that are good will always be good. Good gear helps but it's not a save all for lack of experience. Plus when a zerg comes it's not gonna matter anyway, smh.

Tanky players usually can not do any damage, so there's nothing to get upset about. They sacrifice everything just to be a pinata for all the children trying to get to the candy, lol.

Not for magplar. Chudan gives major resolve which plars get from rune focus. Things are different now anyway. But i use 5 brass light, rattlecage weap, chest, neck, ring, malacaths ring and 1 pc valkyn for the pen. Its not op op but they nerfed magplar into the ground and this set up will let u keep up with the best. Its the only thing that kept me from deleting my plar( love my plar)

I used this and a damage set when I was learning PvP. It is very good to learn PvP with more resistance and more time to react. I think when you get used to PvP you will.find better sets. I also really like buffer of the swift as it gives you armor that can't be penetrated and good magicka stats too.
