Hi,
I have a few PVP characters, but my personal favorite is my Stamblade bow ganker. Ive gotten pretty decent with it and I enjoy playing it, its fun.
My set up was New Moon, Titanborn, x1 Kragh, x1 MolagK. Stage 2 Vamp. Fairly standard Snip>Silver>Snipe gank combo, with the usual buffs pre applied. Wood elf (and consequently using Warrior Mundas)
Following the Titanborn changes recently, where the 5th piece lower health buffs do not apply until in combat, therefore not affecting your opening bow snipe from stealth, has resulted in many, most?.. shifting away from Titanborn. I am of course also aware that not all bow gankers were using Titanborn.
This thread is intended to be a discussion surrounding what set ups people are currently running, and why? It is not intended to be for folk to complain about the ganking playstyle, please.
Sets?
Race?
Vamp?
Combo?

Although there are a few others, the sets I hear most often tend to be... Swamp Raider, New Moon, Sheer Venom, Venamous Smite, Spriggans, Archers Mind. The races I hear most often tend to be, Orc, Dark elf, Kat, Wood elf.
Some boring stuff that it would be nice to hear folks thoughts about, if you like...
Personally I wish to finally race change, to either Orc or Dark elf and I am torn between the two. I also wish to change out at least Titanborn and maybe New Moon, but again with so many combos I am still undecided what set or sets to go for.
One thing I have turned over in my head, is that Titanborn isnt actually that bad even after the nerf. You still get 2727 Physical penetration, 239 Weapon damage, and 1096 Max stam, without the 5th piece lower health bonuses, which will of course apply if youre set up right, to your 2nd and 3rd shots etc. Is it really that bad? Are the other sets in play now really that much better? Im still using my current set up and even without those Titanborn buffs, it still works (mostly), should I even bother to change things up!?

✭✭✭✭✭I'm not a fan of ganking but..... nobody expects a blood frenzied Ferocious Leap from a dark corner.... Or even a Fossilize + Leap for that matter.

Breton MagDK running stage 4 vampire and the Ring of the Pale Order. Quite self sufficient thanks to the Ring and the health cost abilities while also hitting like a freaking truck. If the target is strong enough to retaliate, but not smart enough to instantly heal they just boosted the damage of the next Blood for Blood ability that hits them.
I've also found this build good at killing glass cannon gankers as well, but it is by no means a 1vX build. I still struggle against multiple combatants which is what the vampire ultimate is for, but once it wears off I'm toast.PC NA - Ceyanna Ashton - Breton Vampire MagDK2 -

Are you at least buttered toast? (Had to)
I have a similar issue when I come out of Scion. I try to pop my Mist Form since people stay out of my AoE and generally I have enough time to, but it only delays the inevitable unless I can get them down. I almost want to say turtle in AoE using Blood Mist, but the heals from it are super low in PvP. Gives me a couple of ideas to test out though!0 -

✭Thanks for the comments re Magblade ganking, which is of course very much related to, but also obviously quite different from Stamblade ganking...
I was hoping to hear from all the Stamblade gankers in particular who are out there, on how they have adapted to recent patches, what their set ups are, I know there are plenty of you cos I meet you in Cyrodiil and BG!
Where have all the gankers gone!?
ps, currently farming for Swamp Raider cos I aint paying those prices

Myerscod✭✭✭I love darloc brae and swamp raider for my NB bow gank. Darloc brae allows me so much sustain that I can immediately get back to the gank playstyle, if ganking groups, and gives such better mobility whilst in stealth as you have infinite stam regen in stealth.

1 X Ring of hunt
1 X Kragh
Infinite stealth sustain
Near move speed cap in stealth (concealed weapon + vampire + channeled)
Still insane damage

Thanks! Yeah I had heard of and considered Darloc Brae, when thinking about dropping Titanborn. But I am concerned about the loss of burst damage, I mean there is no max stat, no crit, no weapon damage, it felt like too much to miss out on.
Ring of the Wild Hunt also sounds amazingly good fun to use and a real quality of life improvement in Cyrodiil in particular. But again if I were to use a Mythic item, itd probs be Malacath for the raw damage (especially since Id be dropping a 1 piece monster set which gives wpn damage or penetration). Perhaps a good combination/compromise would be Darloc with Malacath...
I switched to Swamp raider (replacing Titanborn) + New moon + Kragh + Kena since making the original post here. I also race changed to Dark elf from wood elf, therefore switching mundus from warrior to lover. Overall I now have more burst potential, at least thats how it felt (I was able to take out a few targets with more health than I usually would even try to gank) & my damage was higher for longer, rather than just while I could maintain my health low, and this was beneficial for those longer drawn out fights (which one obviously seeks to avoid where possible).
Id still love to hear thoughts from other frunky gankers... 0 -
SgtNuttzmeg✭✭✭✭I really like Bosmer this patch. With the number of proc sets that deal poison damage, I think this race is really underutilized.
I haven't quite found the build I like the most. I am still playing around with things but currently a Stamsorc Non-CP build that runs:
Perfected Master Dual Wield
Perfected Vateshran Hallows Lighting Staff
Pestilence Host
Legacy of Karth
5 Heavy-2 Medium
Sugarskulls.
It is a little single target heavy and has great survivability it just needs a bit more sustain and I am considering replacing Pestilence Host as it is really nice if you can get a momentum going but doesn't preform as well in sweatier fights.Legions of Mordor Core
