No. You'll have to make a new character. There's no class change

No other option than rolling a new character. Don't worry, champion points are shared accross all characters on your account, so once you level up to 50, it will have the same CP as all characters on your account. And also, CPs do work during 1-50 as well so exping a new char is very easy and quick.

    You can't change classes.
But you can level up a new character to level 50 within one evening with Master Writs.
    1. Buy enough skyshards (Cyrodill ones preferred) from the crown store to have 11 unused skill points.
    2. Level up Alchemy to max within 15 mins.
      https://www.sunshine-daydream.org/craft-alchemy.html
    3. Collect, fabricate and deliver (using 150% XP potions) ca. 200 Alchemy master writs.

Why would you? There are so many reasons to stay sorcerer. Like frags. And so many reasons not to be a necromancer. Like blastbones.

you can level up a character to 50 easy in a couple hours.

what you dont get to carry over, and what is far more time consuming:
    -crafting skills
    -achievements
    -quest progress
    -alliance rank
    -horse training
-alternate level'd skill lines (undaunted, thieves, DB, psijic, antiquities, etc.)
    -lore books
-skyshards (and dungeon completion skill points)

    etc.
    etc.

everyone always acting like the only thing that matters about a class change request is the class.

the fact that its so easy to level a class is actually logic in FAVOR of a class change option.

    You can't I'm afraid.

I switched from my 5 years sorc to necro and I'm having a lot more fun than I had before. Sorcs may be better than necro right now, yes... but you gotta take Fun into account.

I am. Frags is fun. Blastbones isn't. Surge is fun. Tether isn't. These are main "defining" skills of each class's mag spec. I would take warden over necromancer everyday, same cooldown on the bread and butter skill, but has better visual, feeling, bigger aoe, not cluncky. Also sorcs are not BiS, and necromancers are much more valuable in trials, so I wouldn't say sorcs are "better".

    You most certainly can, yes.

You just need to delete your character and create a new one with the desired class.

    No.

You can race change, alliance change and name change.

    You cannot class change.

So, start a new character :)

    Thanks guys.

As for why, well I've been a Solo Vampire/sorcerer for a couple of years now. So, I got Markarth and saw all the changes and thought that if it was as easy as becoming a Vampire I'd like to give it a whirl.

Yeah I agree on that list. I don’t have patience to level crafting on every toon. I have one toon with almost all maxed crafting lines and that’s who I go to for everything crafting related. I transmute items to different traits on that toon as well. The horse training has gotta be the worst though. The beginning speed is so slow I’m sure someone could beat me in a race on foot.

However, when you think about it, why should a Necromancer be considered a 'Class'?. When a Vampire and Werewolf isn't? You are not born to any of these, you become the latter two from a bite or scratch. You become a Necromancer by choice and learning spells. So in fact, these three are neither a Class nor a Race. How did we allow ourselves to let the Necromancer to be considered so?. I think we must have been asleep on our watch!.

Good question. Especially because the redesigned Vampires with their "self-killing" skills probably play more different now than for example Necromancers do. The definition probably depends on how ZOS wants to sell these things - as a class people have to pay for or a free base game extension. However, after playing Vamps and WWs I also perceive the redesigned self-killing Vampires pretty much like a weirdo class while I perceive WWs like a useful class extension.
