Question about Trinimac's Valor set

Hey guys! I'm trying to make a tanky build on my necro and i was wondering if Trinimac's Valor set would proc if you put a shield on yourself.
If yes, will it work off of Ice Staff wall shield or Iceheart shield?

✭✭✭✭✭Proc sets can’t be procced from another proc set, @washbern. So, Iceheart will not work.
I haven’t tested the new Wall of Elements shield ... so I can’t say with 100% certainty it doesn’t work. But, the tooltip does ask for a “cast” damage shield such as Healing Ward, Barrier, etc.0 -
Yamenstein✭✭✭✭✭It wont work. Outside of proc sets not procing other sets. Trinimac requires you to case a shield ability, not proc a shield.Crown Crates are a trap. Don't fall for the gamble! Balance? What Balance? Balance, smellance.

Andre_Noir✭✭✭✭It work with istaff wall since it's not passive. I usually run this set on my heal for non-dlc dungeons and any normals.1

✭✭✭✭✭The proc radius (5 meters) is too small for this set to be effective in most types of content, @washbern.
My suggestion is to find a better 5-piece to supplement your heals.

Andre_Noir✭✭✭✭Nah it work just amazing with a group that doesn't deal good damage. Healing ward also means that proc almost always will be on tank and delayed heal actually let the ward work as a heal not only as shield. Add Fire Guard monster and have fun0

Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.***Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.

While I have not tested the frost WoE with that set either, the shield from that skill is not a proc since it becomes part of the skill via the passive so it should proc trinimac vallor.0 -

Yes, but note dk shield only counts as one proc

✭Its actually a decent set, I really enjoy it.
It falls into that category of non meta support sets that dont see much use, but can actually work well, particularly for 4 person content. On my healer I just proc it with the 'ward ally' skill, which can be easily worked into your rotation and so proc trinimac regularly and consistently.
In a decent group, the tank and dds will be pretty close together, either side of any boss or just in amongst an add pull doing their thang... as the healer I am only a short distance further so I dont find it a huge issue having the proc land in a useful location. Getting the proc to land where your group can take advantage of it is part of the skill of using the set, and partly dependent on having a decent group that carries out add pulls and boss fights appropriately.
Note that other sets, such as bogdan nightflame, which are back in fashion somewhat, also have small proc radius, yet still see use.
Anyway, its not meta for healing or tanking but you can use it for fun and its actually not bad.0
