Hi,
So as the title says, can my friend gift me a house, even though i have not completed the achievement required to purchase the house myself?

So the house to be gifted to me is the daggerfall overlook house. And the achievement is "Hero of the Daggerfall Covenant" which i have not completed. Can my friend still gift it to me?

Or will the gift be returned back to him if i have not completed it?
I cant find the info for this anywhere.

Thnx

:)

My understanding is that when there's a required achievement, it applies only to purchasing the house with in-game gold, not to purchasing the house with crowns. So if someone buys the house for you with crowns, it shouldn't matter whether you've earned the achievement or not.

Let me put it this way...

Travel to the house to preview it, then press F5 to see the purchase options.

If it shows you a price in crowns for buying the house, and doesn't list any requirements for purchasing it other than the crown price, then you can buy it without any restrictions as long as you (or the gifter) has the required number of crowns.

If you click on the price field and switch to the in-game gold price, but in addition to showing the in-game gold price it shows a required achievement and says that you don't meet the requirements, then you can't buy the house-- even if you have enough gold-- unless you first attain that achievement. If you've already attained the achievement, it won't be listed anymore, just the in-game gold price.

This is my understanding as well. However, the only home I have purchased with crowns I easily had completed the achievements.

-I have bought a couple of houses, where I do not met the requirements - if purchased with crowns, requirements do not matter - and I guess the same goes for gifting a house. You even can purchase a house in a DLC or chapter region without owning or having access to those. You can still use that house in this case, but when you leave the house, you will be teleported to a region, where you are allowed in. So basically gifting of houses, where the recipient doesn't have access to the region, should not matter for using the house itself.
