Sometimes I can get them to spawn in and finish at least the voriplasm out of the way, which is the worst offender for blocking. But other times she waits and and spawns them right after she calls the tether group, which is pretty much guaranteed wipe.
I finished the 10% phase, got back the her and she almost immediately spawned regular ads and called a tether group and as they start walking called a Shade Colossus as well. Voriplasm and Colussus shielded the tether shade and that was it for me for the night.
Seems totally random.

High enough dps = burn boss to the point she starts the void explosion
Lower dps = target a shade that is farther away or has a clear line of sight starting with single targets and moving to AoE when the mob clusters/save ult and drop on your preferred shade.
Solution: stop burning the boss.
Adds spawn on % of boss health. Shade wall is on a timer.

If you tab target the shade all your attacks in its direction should land on it. If there are adds in the way, you may have to keep cycling the targeting until it lands on the shade you want.

I do not have enough aoe power to burn the target if it's blocked. If I'm ready every single time, I can run over before the shades get there and hit it with incap, surprise attack and relentless focus. Only if I do that right, can I get their health low enough to AOE through the shades.
I gotta hand it to the designers. There's endless pages complaining about one shots in pve and pets screwing up targeting in pvp. They made this incredible arena and then stuck those awful components as the big prominent finish. It's only frustrating and not fun imo. I really do have a good time the rest of the way. But the final boss being that skewed for mag aoe and tab targeting keyboard players leaves a bad taste.
I think the fact that the designers all use keyboards and not gamepads is a big part where we are. It's also why someone would think weaving belongs in the game at all. To them it's a millimeter mouse press, not a full trigger pull AND release for a light attack. Sometimes I get the feeling they think they are doing us a massive favor by letting us play their serious keyboard game with our silly gamepads.
EDIT: I put bonelords everywhere when we are taking about shades. Fixed it.

My issue exactly with the arena. Sure I could change my build into a stereotypical DD and probably just sail through.
BUT I do not wish to do that; my build is supposed to be different and can pull in the 20k dps (alone).
After reading through, i suppose with solid timing I could just slot Undo...
Meh, I just dislike how its a Pure DPS check with a one shot mechanic that scales against you (meaning there is literally no reason to not bring a pure DD cannon type build)
Tanky cheese builds that worked great for vMA dont work here. I'm glad they made this one different, tired of seeing every noob with flawless title running around.
Unfortunately sorcs can still use the steak glitch.
