Items bound but still not collected

Xbox user here.

Ive been going through my toons binding all my items but I've found what I think is a bug. My level 20 (in case this is relevant) has some gear that's been bound but is still showing as not collected, and is definitely not in the collections. There's also no option to bind it. At least one of these items was bought back from a merchant but another one wasn't. Is this a new bug?

OK so what it looks like, because I sold more stuff and things got added to my collections, is that once you've sold something, perhaps by mistake, you can not buy it back and bind it without losing it forever. That's a bit disappointing if this is how it works.

Set pieces you sell only get added to Collections once the buy back period has cleared.

Now, since you are using a level 20 character, what level and what set are the pieces you are trying to add to collections?

    I would try:
Bank it, then try wearing it on a max level character to bind it.
Double check its not a bound, crafted set, since those can't be collected

I tried to bind on a max cp character and the same thing happened. It was an overland set, of no consequence really, but I wanted to put it in my collection. It got me thinking, what if it was a useful bis set like Mother's Sorrow that I wanted to wear, make copies for my other toons, but I made a mistake and sold to a merchant, bought back and now I can use it and bind it but not add to collection. There's something wrong with that.

Well, you could try testing this hypothesis with a cheap throwaway overland set. Sell, then buy back, then try the different methods to get it in collections?

I asked which set(s), because that's info ZOS should want to know so they can figure out if its a general problem or just a problem with particular sets.

I'll try to replicate your bug on PC/NA, but it might take a bit.

Because what's the use of me having lots of gold if I can't blow it buying low-level overland gear for bug-testing, eh?

Max-level character, max level overland gear:
Test: sold 3 pieces of Winter's Respite, bought back two
Result: Equipping a bought-back piece bound and collected it. Deconstructing a bought-back piece collected it.
Ironically, the sold piece took the longest to clear the buy-back period because I had to sell more stuff, but eventually it was collected.

Test 2: max CP character, bought back level 19 necklace of Akaviri dragonguard (marked "Bound, not collected")
Result: I transferred the necklace to my max CP character from the lower level one who bought it back, and it was automatically added to collections when I withdrew it from my bank.

    Level 34 character tests:
Level 34 character, bought back level 20 shield: equipping it bound and collected it

Level 34 character, bought-back level 32 plague doctor gauntlets. Deconstruction collected them.
    .
Level 34 character, bought back level 44 cuirass of veiled Heritance. Deconstruction collected it.

Level 34 character, bought back CP 160 Gryphon's Belt: Deconstruction collected it.

Level 34 character, bought back CP 160 Viper's Sting greatsword (dungeon set, but showing "bound, not collected"): deconstruction collected it.

In conclusion, I'm not seeing any bugs with the collection systems on my end with the buyback system and eventually collecting it, since I was able to buy back gear and either equip it or deconstruct it to add to collections in every case.

Selling then buying back gear does not appear to make it unable to be added to collections or limit your options for doing so...at least that I'm able to replicate on PC/NA.
