New Crown Crates

Well, it's that time again where a lot of cool stuff is available in crates, yet, some are unable to buy them because last month ZOS decided to respect a Belgian law that's already two years in effect. I've checked everything on the website, these so called "solutions" are everything but one. So, how does ZOS plan to accomodate Belgian players? I am expecting an official answer, not just a link or a copy paste from what I can find on the website.

There are obvious solutions, the most fair being that ZOS runs a simulator about lets say a few thousand crown crates, see how many crown gems every item in said crates has and find the average amount per crate. That gives us a rather fair baseline to just buy the crown gems, bypassing gambling laws. If you think that is unfair cause it removes RNG, well, it isn't fair right now either.

the most important thing to say about this, is that the ESO crown crates aren't subject to the gambling laws..

the crown crates don't have the element of deciding between win/loss in the game.
Therefore a important element of gambling law doesn't apply here.
These crowncrates are merely a cosmetic / rp thing. You don't need them to achieve in game stuff.

For all those that laugh with us... know that all european countries have to implement this law over time..

So @ZOS_GinaBruno it would be very nice to have a response on this matter.. (and like mentioned before, not a new copy pasta to the short note on the site

This is a very sticky situation. Any changes made for belgium would then make it unfair for the rest of us not bound by the new laws. Would us here in USA have access to the same opportunities given to Belgium players?

Crown crates need to go away already, or if anything, not be used to lock away items. All items in crates should also be available for direct purchase. Belgium was just the first to put their foot down on this greedy/manipulative practice, the rest of the world needs to catch up.

I was hoping for an official statement regarding this too.
There was no notification in-game whatsoever. I thought my add-ons were messing up with the gui I only found out through the forums that this was the case.

I hope ZOS implements a solution to do this, cause now I have to resort to in-game crown selling to get my crates/gems to get the collectables.

There is no reason whatsoever that the items found in crown crates can not be sold for crowns directly. The entire purpose of gamble crates is no different than Casinos, its to ensure the house wins, the house in this case being ZOS.

the only thing I want more than being able to purchase radiant mounts for a flat rate, is to have more actual, EARNABLE mounts and cosmetics. The fact that there are only two? (godslayer and the antiquities wolf i think?) mounts you can actually work to get in this massive, huge awesome game is pathetic.

But they know how to make money.

The Microsoft deal doesn't close until next year, @Velothis.

It is surprising how many players are trying to invoke the Microsoft buyout to promote their personal ESO laundry list.

First of all, it was clearly rethorical, underlining the clear absence of any customer supoirt that ZOS provides.

Secondly if you find just having an answer that concerns a wholy country's playerbase part if a laundry mist, I wouldn't wanna be your linnen mate. :P
