[BUG] Random Normal Dungeon Finder assigns Veteran Dungeon Instance to Below 50-character

It has happened twice in a row now, that my below 50 character ended up in a group for a Veteran Dungeon, when I was actually in the queue for Random Normal.

Reproduction:
1. Join Queue (as usual) (Random Normal Dungeon)
2. You are now queued in the group finder
3. Your Normal Dungeon is ready. Your role: X Tank
4. I get a message with a gist of "Cannot jump to instance because you do not meet level requirements"
5. When I check the group window it says "Dungeon Mode: Veteran" at the top
6. Group is composed of at least 1 CP and several below 50 characters.
7. I can only leave the group since I will never be able to join the instance -> I get a penalty for leaving

This problem works both ways of course. CP-characters get assigned below 50-group mates so they can't actually complete the Vet Dungeons (though they can hope a requeue will fix this after all below 50s left).

This essentially makes the Dungeon Finder useless atm.

I'm using the DFG for specific normal dungeons and it's attempting to group into Vet dungeons. Since I'm below level 50 I can't enter, but I'm still added to group. This happened to me twice.

    I'm on PC/NA.

@Cynaes, sorry to say that this is a known bug that has been happening since the previous dungeon DLC was released (i.e. the past 3 months). That is, under-L50 characters trying to join a random dungeon (sometimes) get put into a vet dungeon group and cannot port in, have to leave.
I suspect that it may affect specific level characters - was your character between levels 45 and 49? [just speculation on my part - as per responses below it seems this is just random and not level-specific]

Same happened to me couple of times, one time it was vet dungeon, other time it was normal but with above character level requirement

@Pyr0xyrecuprotite Thanks for the details. I didn't encounter that problem pre-patch, so I assumed it was new.

My character is only just level 30, so the 45-49 window doesn't make sense.

Maybe it's because all my other charts are already 50+. Though it still doesn't explain why I didn't have that problem before today 🤔

I am now experiencing 1 minute queue for a FULL group. Wow

Never encountered this problem before the patch. Been solo queuing with my lvl 45 tank on specific normal dungeons and random normals to get the last couple of levels and keep getting this same problem. I generally am paired with 3 cp characters since I'm solo q'ing as a tank. This last time just now, one of the other folks said they had queued on their random normal, but the group screen said the group was set to Vet and apparently the map and mob's health said it was normal. So, waiting out the 10 min penalty for doing nothing wrong again.

Back again for the day - I haven't been able to successfully queue even once with my below 50 char since the Patch

Same. Leveled three new toons during the XP event and this happened with all of them.

**I only noticed it happening following someone declining, etc., and being placed at the front of the queue. The next time it popped, it wouldn't let me jump because I was on a baby toon. Then I had to log off for 15 minutes because I was also on XP drinks.

Still happening on my below 50 toon. It occurs with either random normal dungeon find and specified dungeons at my level.

The dungeons you are queued into are indeed normal, not vet.

The issue is - if the person who happens to be the group leader has the veteran group mode, then the game thinks that you are trying to get into veteran dungeon and stops you (<50 lvl).

The easiest workaround to implement by ZOS would be to automatically change everyone's group mode to normal when they queue for RND/specific normal dungeon.

The real question is - why does dungeon finder care what group mode do we have? It has nothing to do with it (at least it should have) - group mode is used only if we manually port into dungeon/arena/trial.

Yeah, it's a bug with dungeon finder - full groups are not getting the dungeon and you must spam queue stop/start until you get to ready check.
Yet another type of bug - today I got queued to a vet pledge, but couldn't join the group - "Jump failed. Instance is full."

That's interesting, so with our 50+ characters if we all make sure to set the default mode to 'normal' that potentially will reduce the problem for under-50s you're saying?

    (Caveat about drops in buckets)

Yup, that's why whenever it happens in my group I'm informing the leaders about the bug and ask them to make sure to set group mode to normal before queueing into RND/normal dungeon pledge.

This is happening to me 2 times in a row. I'm level 29 and queue up for a random normal- end up with VET. There were others in my group also not of a VET level and we all had to drop.

Paid attention to this yesterday and today- lo and behold, at least for me, it's one hundred percent accurate. If someone declines and I get put back in the queue, I always end up in a vet instance. I haven't had it happen to me if the first ready check was successful.

    Is anyone actually investigating/fixing this?

As far as I can tell people are not being put into vet dungeons. Those players in the group who do manage to get in are placed in a normal instance but for some reason it is flagged as vet from the perspective of the low level toon.
