Reconstructing an item at a Transmute Station should allow to choose what Motif Style.

This would add more uses to motifs and more freedom of choice. Example: Reconstructing a Jerkin of a Mother's Sorrow would allow you to chose Meridian style, instead of Argonian (default style). Why? More diversity with outfits, without spending money on Outfit Slot upgrades - they are only character-wide instead of account.

The downside here would clearly be a conflict with Outfit Style Upgrades from Crown Store. In my opinion the way those upgrades work are dreadful, being character only instead of account-wide. Once you have bought 10, then that is it: you cannot get any more. So, if you make a new character - you will only have 1 costume space.

Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 25 DLCs. 41 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game.

i dont see how this would make a difference. if you already know a certain style, you can use it any time via the outfit station.

I agree with this. The outfit system trumps all of this.

We reconstruct a set item that already comes in defined style that it drops in, not that it matters really with the outfit system. Also, outfits are account wide and known crafting motifs are character specific - so i would have to relog to my crafter to recreate those fancy meridian pants of mother sorrow.

Selecting style on items the same way as then you craft crafted sets has the benefit that you see who gear you are on.

Granted you also have the bar who is more important as I tend to be on builds like overland, dungeon, PvP, perhaps an sneak build.
Healers tend to have multiple configs with only changes might be monster set and bar as in DD / off heal, DD / heal, Heal and buff.

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

and with those multiple configs, i would assume you use dressing room? the addon has a label for every one of your configs to tell you what you're running. (and you can label it however you'd like) if you dont use dressing room, then i dont buy the fact that you cant tell what you have equiped (because of the style) when you just manually switched it.

to all saying they dont see the benefit of the proposal:

clearly you can understand that this would essentially mean +1 Outfit slot? because you can reconstruct your gear to be pleasing for you, while having the default outfitslot free to spare for what ever other appearance you want to have, be it for RP, Awesomeness or what ever.

Agreed. This is what I do currently, helped by the fact that until now I've stuck to using crafted sets because I can't be bothered spending ages trying to farm something, especially when that's unnecessary for open-world PvE and normal dungeons where having the best possible build really doesn't matter.

I had considered starting to use dropped sets now I can collect them as I'm passing through the area and don't have to store them or farm them again later, but the fact that I won't be able to customise them is a big step down and puts me off using them.

For me this means effectively losing an outfit slot, since I currently have both my actual armour and an outfit, both customised to look how I want. If I'm stuck with the default look for dropped gear that loses me one way of customising my character's look, and means I'm more likely to stick with just crafted gear still, making the new collection system largely useless.

I realise it's no change for people who were already disregarding their actual gear and only using outfits, but that's not everyone who plays ESO.

this makes sense 2 me. this way we can make the armor look nice and have an outfit slot for another look. outfit slots cost too much.

Only crafted items, which cannot be placed in the Sticker Book, can have your choice of motifs. Everything else drops as it is. Not sure why anyone would expect that to change, especially seeing how the clothing station makes the entire thing irrelevant.

It doesn’t make it irrelevant. An outfit is one look; the gear that you are actually wearing is another.

That said, while I would love to have such a feature (would even inspire me to remake sets I have and am using), I do not expect it to be added since this gear normally comes in one style only and it is already a plus that we can remake it in any trait we know.
