How do you start the witches festival quest when the crown store is down???????

I have a friend who is just new to the game and he'd like to get the memento for both fun and the XP buff.
But since Crown Store is turned off, how the heck does he start the quest?

✭✭✭✭✭Might be too late, since the event ends in 45 minutes, but can you just walk up to where the witch is and get the quest from her directly? Not the Impresario, but the witch who gives you the memento after you complete her quest.I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!0 -

And where would that be?
The thing about the Witches Festival is that she spawns into the world when someone uses the quest starter item. Without that item, she simply doesn't spawn in. It might be possible to piggyback onto another player's quest giver (though, I'm not sure other players can see her.) It might also be possible to get into her lair, but I'm unsure if she's even there unless you're on the quest, or if you can pick up the quest from her.
Short answer? You need the crown store item to start the quest.0 -

It's too bad there wasn't any time left. Oh well maybe next year then.

ZOS really needs to re-think when they do these updates because they are chopping off days from the items on sale during the event.0 -
joerginger✭✭✭✭✭Well, in a way it's good for them even if it is almost certainly not intended and just the usual "what could possibly go wrong?" that happens during each important update. So much of their crown store is based on our "Fear of Missing Out". It turns out we can in fact "miss out" if we hold back on spending crowns until the very last day of an offer.0
