Maw of the Infernal and recently tanked.

Yesterday I tanked a dungeon run, something I haven't done in probably six months. I remember the Maw of the Infernal daedroth proc back then. Back then it used to spawn and stand back. Now they seem to instead appear blank range on the target. Most of the targets in Blackheart haven where I was are smaller then the daedroth and it entirely obscured my view of the boss targets. It would be nice if they would be patched to stand back or have a filter option so other players don't have to see them.

    My main is a melee DD and I like to see what I'm hitting too or if some stray mob is going to HA me. I'd say Maw's effect shouldn't be visible for other players at all or it should be changed to something much, much smaller. Dragon frogs or something.

    They changed it, if memory serves me because the Daedroth would spend the bulk of its up time chasing its target rather than actually attacking/doing damage.

    Would be nice to have a toggle so you can't see it though.

    Don't worry, they said they will fix it (Uber high burning chance), so people will stop running it soon.
    Then again it is not the first time they said they will fix the too high burning chance.

    I can't tell you how many full rotations I've wasted on a suddenly appearing friendly daedroth while clearing dolmen. I like the idea about making it a dragon frog. Or maybe an angry butterfly. ;)

    It would be nice to have the option to turn off visuals for other people's pets. I main a tank and maw is a pain, I didn't think it was that bad when I mained a dps toon. Now on my dps I run Ilambris just to be nice. For me personally there's less than a 2k dps loss on a 21 mil parse, plus I've always like Ilambris more in trash pulls.

    Yeah it's a serious problem. Been a serious problem for awhile. I was pointing this out a long time ago though most people thought I was making a big deal out of nothing because back then it wasn't the "meta" so it wasn't as common. But now that every other DPS is running it people have seen the light. haha

    Honestly the whole pet thing on this game needs a thorough rework. When it becomes an active and popular game strategy to use pets and summons to obstruct other player's viewpoint and targeting then you know it's officially out of hand.

    It is not a nerf, but a fix, maw is strong thanks to the high burning chance, remove it and it will be weak :D

    Fixing the burning is like putting a bandaid on a broke leg.

    Make the sucker invisible, or something small (like the dragon frog idea), fix the broken leg for tanks everywhere.

    Honestly I wish they would change domihaus and make everything within the circle take damage instead of just the ring. I would have it on all my toons, stam and mag if they did that!

    I agree the fire damage from the ring is pretty useless. I still like the set though. Sometimes I team it up with Spell Power Cure for a significant spell power buff to the group with my Templar. I think that combo works great with extended ritual.

    Keep it the way it is, its great seeing my group in Cyro all attack someone and 24 Daedroths spawn on him

    That does sound amusing. haha

    But the set makes tanking aggravating and can even get you killed and lead to wipes. And the last thing this game needs is more things to discourage people from playing a tank.

    If people had the option to filter them out visually you could still watch that happen if you kept the visual turned on. So I don't think what the OP is proposing here would stop you from having your fun.

    I realize we all have different tolerances for things. However, I haven’t found this to be a real issue that often. When the daedroth does get in the way I just take a step on way or another.
