I am interested in the Khajiit but I guess I would like to "test him out" first. I also like the drunken Alfiq I saw in datamine. Maybe with them around I will finally place Pirharri somewhere.

House guests should be acquaintances we meet in game. Your character does some amazing feat and an NPC decides hey I'd like to hang out at this person/lizard/cat. Rescue someone and they feel they have a debt to repay?
I need merchants for my outdoor bazaar and I have crowns from ESO+ but I don't want to just purchase people/cats/lizards so they will on occasion hang out with me.

Im not against this, there is a few characters I would like to have. I see why zos might not want to have characters that appear in story quest incase they want to reuse them in the future. Doesnt make much sense for raz to be uncovering another deadric plot if he has spent the last year in my house after getting kicked out of the palace in alinor by the proxy queen for sitting on the throne one to many times. Or does it make more sense? O.o

What I fail to understand was why they didn't sweeten the deal and encourage sales to people who aren't interested in decorations by giving House Guests a function outside of just walking around. Like collecting your surveys, maybe?
