Watch out though, the last time my Eso+ expired i lost 100 transmute cristals.

It is a very useful trial. Used the option to 'stow to craft bag', crafting materials that were in my nearly full bank and it's now down to 20 items.

Also did all the surveys I'd collected and the materials went straight to the craft bag.

Checked last years' forums and the transmutate crystal limit does go up to 200 for the trial but afterwards it drops to 100. You then loose any crystals over the cap.

So do not add crystals over the 100 cap.

That's incorrect. As others have said, you can add over the 100 cap, but once your trial runs out, you are stuck at 1xx/100, meaning that if you open a geode to take out crystals, they disappear. Otherwise, it works just like the bank/craft bag: you lose access to adding more, but the actual contents remain until you use enough to get down within normal limits.

If you actually lose crystals when your trial ends, you need to contact customer support. If you're worried about this, take a screenshot of your crystals just before the trial ends and then one when it does expire to submit with your ticket.

You don't lose crystals by opening the geode without ESO+ active, it just won't let you open them. I've had one sitting in my crafter's inventory for ages for exactly that reason.

From my experience, you can't even open the geode; it just sits there in your inventory, forever. Unstackable and unopenable.

Ah, thank you @Danikat and @Cundu_Ertur. I'm usually very good about my limits, with or without ESO+ so I can't say if I have ever tried to open a geode itself while knowing I was at/above the limit. I know if you open something near the limit, you lose the extra (say you're at 97/100 and open a 5-crystal geode, you'll lose 2). I also have lost a couple in anniversary event type things where you get a loose crystal in the box of rewards and I hit R without checking my balance because I am opening things too quickly. So I assumed it was the same for geodes themselves but good to know that that's not the case!

To be honest, I never tried opening one when I was at, say, 98/100. I suspected it would let you open the geode, but then keep you from taking all of the crystals inside if there were more than what it would take to hit the cap.

edit to add, i need to read better. glad I didn't try the experiment.

Only reason I tried to open one when I was above the limit is because I very rarely get them and it was in with a whole bunch of unfamiliar stuff (I think I got it during the PvP event?) so I wasn't thinking about the limit, just opening all the containers to sort out the contents. It was only after it didn't work that I checked what it was and why I couldn't open it.

I'm not too worried about losing the odd crystal here and there. If I've managed to get over 100 of them saved up without intentionally farming them I can probably get more if and when I need them.

Don't forget you also get to change the color of your outfits at the dye station with the free ESO+ trial.

Outfits or costumes? Everyone can dye outfits (and armour) at any time, it's only costume dying which is restricted to ESO+.

Always seemed a bit random to me, but I think at the time they were scrambling for any random QoL stuff they could throw in to make it seem more worthwhile, before they had the idea of increasing the crown allowance and adding exclusive discounts on the store.

ESO+ week... Yeah I've gone absolutely bankrupt buying up furnishings to fill the new gifted home and finishing up my other homes that needed adjustments. Ultimate gold sink, but certainly appreciated.

So far I've logged into each character at least once to move any materials they had into the craft bag, then used the newly opened bank space to sort out all my consumables - I put everything in there and then each character has a turn withdrawing what they need and I sell anything left over which isn't worth keeping.

I've had a quick look through my costume dyes but I don't think I want to make any changes this time around.

At the weekend I'm planning to try swapping around some furnishings in my main house - there's some random objects I got to look like something my characters had picked up on their travels which I can now replace with antiquities they really did find. :D (All my other houses are at/below the normal limit, so I can change them whenever.)

Oh and I'll quickly visit the newest dungeons to unlock the whatever you get for having access to them. I don't think there's anything I actually want, but I might as well do it while I can.

I think that's it for ESO+ benefits for me.
