This morning for the first time, I experienced cooldown timers on numerous Abilities (like werewolf Claws and restoration staff heals). Is this a new thing?

Playing under-level-50 campaign and experiencing these new cooldown timers. Makes the game unplayable for me. Yes, yes, I know: Get used to it. Adapt. Accept.

It’s part of the aoe testing in cyrodiil. Today started the next phase. The quote from on this week’s change is below. See the stickied note on top of the forums for details.
October 12-19: Group size is limited to 12 in Cyrodiil, and everyone’s AoE abilities will go on individual cooldowns and have escalating cost similar to the tests above

Not on pc but I dont like the sounds of these tests.

Theres a point where chasing performance isnt worth it. Even If these changes dramatically increased performance, Id prefer to take the poor performance.

But most people dont. preformance is unplayable during primetime.

Hard Disagree. I loath the idea of cooldowns, but at least they are predictable (compared to hitting your skill button 6-12 times before it goes off). If you havent been in PVP the last 5 weeks, they have been testing all kinds of things. Some didnt seem to make much of a dent, but week 1 and week 5 were certainly the most noticeable in terms of performance improvements. Week one was global cooldowns on AOEs, week 5 limited cross healing and group size.

It is not like they are chasing a few extra frames for some negligible performance increase. PVP is unplayable during primetime. Darn near anything is better than the status quo.

Week one was because everyone one was in IC.

The cooldowns and cost increases only apply if your group has 6-12 players. Five or less players and you'll have no restrictions at all.

This is true: We finally figured it out today, as group size grew and shrank. We were quite tempted to run multiple 5-player groups just to avoid loss of Abilities.

I mean im not arguing that performance needs work, I just dont think this is the right way to go about it. Especially the group size thing.

Im just hopeful that microsoft will help. I think its likely just from a cost benefit we will be switching servers if there able to. Maybe that will help
