Ever wanted to make a meadery, a taphouse that makes its own drinks, or some variation thereof? Well, the number one thing that players forget to add when they build their own bar is the means of production: a brewing vat or distiller! BEHOLD!

On the outside, a brewing vat and a distiller can look rather similar, especially given the lack of advanced metal craft that is common in Tamriel, so this design works for both, though keep in mind that the inner mechanisms hidden by the outside shell will be very different dependent on whether it is a vat or a still... but what is the difference between brewing and distilling? A brewing vat aids in the initial fermentation of liquids into alcohol, usually through boiling the mixture though this is not always required, and creates drinks such as beer, mead, wine, and cider. Distilling is the process of boiling an already existing alcoholic liquid (whether it was a previously existing beverage, or a liquid mixture not yet intended for consumption) and condensing the steam produced by the boiling process into an even purer alcoholic beverage with a higher alcohol content, often referred to as hard liquors. To give an example; distilling creates brandy out of wine. Other examples of drinks created by distillation are rum, whisky, gin, and vodka.
Follow my simple design, and you'll be mixing up drinks in no time!
Furnishings required: 1 clockwork keg, 1 clockwork barrel (flip it upside down and place it on top of the keg!), 3 scavenged supports (clip into the top ring of the keg, and triangulate them so that they are as even as possible to act as legs for the distiller), and 1 heat source that can fit underneath the keg and between the supports (I used an orcish brazier, tabletop).
Happy brewing, or distilling!
