How about just giving us a playable vampire class as vampire lords.
EDIT: I use the term "giving us" loosely, I know full well we would pay handsomely for a new class.

A class instead seems odd, but would give vampires so much room for abilities instead of balancing around broken class combos.
That's what is truly holding vamps back.

Werewolves work perfectly with how they work in game, well perfect is maybe a stretch but they work as one would suggest from a lore perspective. This is clearly not the case with vampires. Everyone I have met who wants to play a vampire, wants to play a vampire, not a sorcerer who is a vampire. Playing a vampire means using vampire abilities, not templar abilities or dragon knight abilities.
I think for one thing, they'd be easier to balance. But more importantly ZOS would be able to stick with lore and create a cool vampire lord class.
I debate with myself if the vamp line should stay around as "turned" vampires, and the class being the "vamp lord" or if the skill line should just get morphed into the class.
I agree with you it might seem odd as a class, but this is an MMO and lore has been tweaked/ignored/altered enough that there would be no real reason for someone to complain about lore.
IMO, as a class they would be much more fun, more compelling, easier to balance, the devs have a bit more creative freedom and they can still monetize it like they do the current line. It would (as far as I can tell) make players more happy. Seems like a win win to me, but I dont work for them and am not privy to the data they use to base decisions on.

I wasn't hating the idea at all. Just a bit wierd, but your idea of vampire lord class and still having turned (basically half) vampires sounds too good.
That would be a good reason to get all npc vampire abilities along with the vampire lord form.
That also means they won't be held back with class combos. Thats a reason why werewolf seems stronger since they can't use anything from classes.
I know I would use that class as my new main.

IMO, if they don't fix vamps or bless us with a vamp lord class for the end of this years vampire extravaganza, I will be dissapointed.
Think about it....some cool story, you get to the end and the reward is the vampire lord class unlock. How cool would that be!
I have seen others say we have too many classes, but really we dont have enough. We could easily have 12 classes in game and it would just start to feel right. I know this is a sensitive topic, some prefer to play premade classes, others want to build their own but with vampires it only makes sense to offer them as a class, with a full set of abilities to make them playable AS a vampire, and as I said before, that is a key point. Playing a vampire sorc is not the same as playing a vampire. Playing a warrior werewolf, works. Playing a doctor werewolf, works. Playing a vampire as anything but a vampire does not feel the same way.
Anyway. I am in 100% agreeance with you

I actually don't hate the scion look besides it needing red eyes, it just could be better.
Standing beside the vamp lord statue in my home or next to one during a harrowstorm is just no contest.
The worst part is how combat wise it's no different. I WANTED to play vampire but main werewolf atm since I can kill with my claws. If scion could fight with claws and use blood attacks like npcs then I'd probably play vampire instead. Yeah, it always felt off with such limiting compared to past vampires in other games. And I will always take more classes. Hating new classes just because you already have your favorite is selfish.

Keep in mind in Skyrim you could technically be a pure vampire-class, so I see no reason why it can't be here. (Vampiric drain in both hands + vampire lord as power, boom. Pure vampire class.)
Maybe that's why we didn't get lord form with the vamp rework and why the rework itself seems so weird? They COULD be planning on adding in a class that is one. I just think it is so silly they added so many new animations and skills that are used by NPC vampires, yet we as players will never be able to use them on our end.

Skyrim is what made me love vampire lords. Granted I played a hybrid werevamp but still mostly used vampire spells.
Hybrid i dont think will happen. Anyone can see the easy money in a vampire class though.

Incorrect, vamp lords are a unique blood line. The one in eso is essentially the generic vampirism you find in the wild. Vamp lord is what came in dawn guard. And if you remember only the elder can grant that "gift"
