    Oh.... hmm. Interesting take there. And I'm SO bummed that we didn't have our Shakespeare festival this year. But of course, not having it with COVID rampant was definitely the best option.

    A very interesting take :). All the plots have already been written, all the songs sung, all the plot twists invented and characters worked out ;).

    I've always found that to be a really bleak perspective. I mean, yes, all the component pieces have been used before (if we warp the definitions far enough), but that doesn't preclude the possibility of something new and unique.

    Now, there is an issue with people using The Hero's Journey like its a coloring book, but that's a different problem.

    Wasn't trying to bring anyone down, I just thought there were some interesting thematic parallels. Obviously it's not a 1-for-1 "lift and shift," since Falstaff was actually part of the nobility, and Hal wound up ordering the execution of one of his former carousing-mates after he became king (for pulling the kind of stuff they would have done when he was a drunken, wastrel prince). Still!
