Weapon Personalities

Please do an animation overhaul for weapons and make them into personalities that we can buy from the crown store. This game hands down would be #1 if the animations weren't so outdated. The biggest offender is the 2H swing animations, literally your legs turn into spaghetti half way through the swing when you are running. I would pay for a weapon personality pack if I could.

TLDR Weapon animations of light/heavy attacks and the way weapons are held when running are outdated. Please create and add weapon personality packs into the crown store.

    I want to do the sweet swing-around animation that NPCs sometimes do when sheathing their 2H.

    You know what I really enjoy, the NPC dodge moves when they jump in the air over you. Please let us have those <3

    Here is a link of a glitch the game had way back in the day. It swapped animations of the staff and the 2h sword, causing you to carry a greatsword in a powerful one hand and throw fireballs out of it.

    I'd love to see straps/scabbards any day (like many weapons in Dark Souls 3! <3), but from my hobby dev standpoint, the "stick floating to the back" is kind of a necessary MMO evil/adjustment. The more you can generalize drawing (e.g. identical relative position for weapons not depending on the gear a character is wearing) the better performance you can achieve. That's also part of the reason many classic armor appearances were just "painted on" – it's simply more performant. Over time they were able to optimize more, sacrifice some performance for looks, etc. so I haven't lost hope. :)

    I would also love weapon personality! I think it would be cool to have a staff personality similar to dragon age inquisition

    I actually had a similar glitch, but it was with the assassins personality. It made it so my daggers were held differently, one of them were held backwards, which gave it a unique look. Wish I was able to repeat it.

    Remember the common glitch where your weapons would float on the ground nearby? so you had empty hands but still went through animations, just sans weapons.

    It looked amazing for unarmed combat! 2 handed, dual wield, sword and shield, they all had really cool stances, and some abilities looked amazing - uppercut and flurry being two great examples.

    I'd love weapon personalities, but I would settle for a weapon style that makes melee weapons invisible!
    #1 tip (Re)check your graphics settings periodically - especially resolution.

    not only weapon animations but also some skills too.

    necro hand skill the one which holds the target and comes from ground, the dragon knight skill which caster raises the sword up then flies and lands after 2 secs, and another dk skill that does roundhouse flying burning punch etc.

    Actually the exclusion of weapon animations from personalities is entirely deliberate. This is because animation time affects how quickly your heavy and light attacks can do damage. Having the personality with the fastest animation, or more easily cancelled animation, would actually improve your DPS if you're good at weaving.

    So I wouldn't hold your breath.

    That wouldn't be an issue if you made all the personalities the same speed. We aren't asking for faster or slower swings, more or less we are asking for style changes.

    Spears...lances....there's a multitude of weaponry to bring out....and if spell crafting comes out perhaps we'll be only single wielding a weapon with spell in the other hand...I think they'd concentrate on these new things more than overhauling an existing system.

    Careful what you ask for cause you might just end up uppercutting into the ground or worse....outside of nirn.

    What is this spellcrafting thing? I hear alot of people asking for it.

    Don't know about personalities, however, I would pay to sheath my 2 1 handed swords on my back.
