I thought Automatic was based on last state at logout? This will do nothing for me when I stop at a guild store and need AGS not to crash the UI.
It's great if you want to run your day based on how the UI is when you log in/out, but I'm fine with the toggle. Pressing "shift G" is far less work Imo.

I actually quite like the gamepad inventory ui as is, save for the only thing that I personally feel is missing: keyword search. Something sorely missing in bank and character inventory for both modes.

The skyrim-esque UI is god damns terrible. Thing is you can easily have a PC UI with a gamepad but it's only more recently devs are attempting to have hybrid UIs.
Destiny and no man's sky for eg.
ESO dropped way before devs trying to hybrid.
Look on the bright side, at least it doesn't follow oblivions UI!

This hasn't been updated since 2016, there was an "advanced disable controller" add-on but the updates stopped in 2019 after elsweyr. It was not compatible after harrowstorm.
