I know from reading multiple different threads that the Band of brutality is in a good spot in PVP. However, from a PvE viewpoint, it is
not in a good place. Which is why I bring about this suggestion outlined below.
- 1 item: Increases your damage done by 25%. You cannot deal critical damage. Damage done is increased by an additional 1% for every 2% Weapon or Spell Critical Damage above 50%. This bonus is capped at 50% and disabled in Battlegrounds, Duels and Cyrodiil*.
*White-Gold tower and Imperial City Prison are an exception as these are group dungeons, and the Damage done for every 2% critical damage above 50% scales accordingly to your one highest Critical damage stat, preventing any double dipping.
This suggestion took a while to think about but there were a few “crucial” pain points that needed to be addressed which is where this suggestion aims at in a way.
Because Critical Damage could still be increased even if the wearer had 0% critical chance. allowing additional Damage Done to be increased based on a portion of critical damage accumulated would give it more viability in a PvE environment, especially in a Group Trial. not to mention it would give any excess critical damage above
Setting the Cap to 50% was done in regards to the available sourcing of critical damage from passives, sets, CP’s and buffs, especially in an organised Group/trial environment. Night Blades and Templar’s May get a good boost out of it through their passives, as will anyone who happens to be a Khajiit
(your welcome my fuzzy feline friends.) but what prevents this suggestion from being too overpowered is self-explanatory, the bonus itself can never be used in a PVP environment, such as battlegrounds, Duels, and even Cyrodiil
(Imperial city included.) thus leaving it in a good spot in pretty much both environments.
good thing is, as the bonus can only be accumulated above the base 50% critical damage that all players have, if certain enemies had a way of applying debuffs which reduce the players critical damage outside all forms of PVP, maybe even as a type of mechanic, it can keep players on edge in a way as it would reduce the effective damage bonus gained from it temporarily.
But let’s be honest, what do you think about this, and if you have an idea on how to make malacaths band of brutality better in a PVE environment, then lets hear it. plenty of room to discuss ways of making this item more relevant in both environments.
If you see me anywhere. Know that I am sitting back with a bag of popcorn, watching as ESO burns the goodwill of its player base with practices that only disrespects the players time like it did to me and many others...
If a game does not respect your time, best thing to do is move on from it and find something else.
