Antiquarian's Alpine Gallery wayshrine

I suggest to add an extra wayshrine near Antiquarian's Alpine Gallery, for example here. Because now it's very uncomfortable to run to the nearest wayshrine through half of the mapOSRjR7a4.png

You can travel directly to the house from anywhere in Tamriel though, doesn't really need a wayshrine.

If I recall correctly, this travel is free regardless of where you are coming from, so it doesn't even have a recall price.

I think (and please correct if wrong) while it's free to teleport TO your house for free from anywhere in the world at any time, it counts as a recent teleport, and so if you try to then use the map to teleport anywhere when you're done at your house, it's the increased rate because you've technically teleported recently.

So like free to teleport there, but if I sell and bank and then want to teleport to a different place it costs 900+g vs. 146g like normal teleport fees, because teleporting TO my house counted as a recent teleport and I have to wait for the price to go back down over time.

    Did that make sense?

I think I see the point. It’s always nice to be able to leave your house and have a wayshrine close by to use to get somewhere else. I use that little snow globe house in Eastmarch that way since there is a wayshrine so close to where it sits. The snow globe is perfect for doing tasks during the New Life celebration 🔮

It's free to travel TO a house, but for whatever reason not FROM a house unless of course you walk out the front door and walk to a wayshrine.

So I agree w/ the OP, we need a wayshrine closer to the door.

Even better would be a wayshrine we could place in our homes... that would be a nice QOL addition.

Just port to any player when leaving. You'll have a loadingscreen either way no matter if you leave through the front door or port to a player.

I end up porting to the sugar bowl suite in Rimmen then down the stairs so yes it would be a nice addition. Not that I'm complaining given it's a free house!

It’s a free house. They specifically make them a pain to walk to and from. The psijic house is the same way. They don’t want to make things too convenient since we’re just getting it.

Or give us way shrines as a placable furnishing?! As we have pointed out, traveling TO your house isn't the issue, but the leaving part... that gets sticky.

I use the EasyTravel addon and it helps soooo much by doing the steps of finding a player that’s in the zone you want to go to. All you have to do is right click on the zone in the list under locations in your map 🗺

EDIT: If you have a free guild slot, I also recommend the Beam Me Up addon, which has other features for traveling as well as coming with a guild made just for the travelers, which means you have better luck having someone in a zone you want to go to.

Different houses have different distances from wayshrines.

The best free housing if you want to port to a wayshrine is the room at the inn in Vulkhel Guard, although the room at the inn in Daggerfall is a close second.

The best paid housing if you want to port to a wayshrine is the house in northern Bangkorai.

I'm sure there are probably others, but those are my favorites for porting to (i.e., near) a wayshrine for free.

Like SeaGtGruff, I use the inn at Vulkhel Guard, it seems to be closest to a wayshrine. From the Gallery, that's what I do - I port to Auridon, then take that wayshrine. I know it's loading screens, but I don't really have an issue with that - I have all the time in the world.... And I also use Twin Arches in Bangkorai. Sugar Bowl Suite in Rimmen is another I use fairly frequently.

The best solution realy would be a wayshrine for the house that can be used to port outwards.

Maybe limit the function some so that it can only transport you back to the wayshrine that is nearest the location you teleported from?

Yes definitely needs a wayshrine. Not for entering but for when you leave. This is why i suggested that house exits should act as wayshrines, giving you the option to leave or travel free to a world wayshrine.

And you can travel from house to house for free as well, so if you have the Snowglobe, Witch's Hut or any of the apartments, you could travel to one of those, then to a nearby wayshrine. Not sure if that would be less travel time though...

Honestly I wouldn't mind a few more wayshrines both above & below ground. ESPECIALLY below since it feels like there's a lift with 1-2 shrines clustered nearby & then no more shrines for "miles" until you reach either a quest area or another lift.

No, we had to pay for greymoor and invest time with antiquities to earn the house. It wasn't free.

    All true

However, it is nice to Leave your house and access a close wayshrine, which is the situation with a number of houses. Porting to a wayshrine From Inside your house does cost a bit of gold.

You (probably) paid for Greymoor long before you knew there would be a free house with it, so yes - it's a free house because you weren't expecting it when you bought the expansion.

No, since the second chapter we have been given a "free" house in some form, so it was obvious we would get one this year.

Most crown-only homes are no where near a wayshrine, and some homes available for gold have them almost outside the front door. It's a mix, and while yes, it's a pain to ride to the wayshrine, this is why I own all of the apartments. Need to port to a city but still on travel cooldown? Just go to an apartment and save 1k gold. :)

well, op can get a hovel in each/any of the three factions. wayshrines are pretty close. just out the door of the inn. ok well out and around back in daggerfall.

and as usual, i can't find a way to edit. so i wanted to add: after you tp to the skyrim house, just head on over to your faction hovel and then head out to the nearby ws.

Most homes do not have a wayshrine right outside. Some are pretty far from a wayshrine. As such, there is no justification that this home we were just given should be an exception.
